Sikhism is an okay religion but Sikhs are very sexist, they have 786 women per every 1000 men & they want to from a separate nation called Khalistan Lil! One out of every four Khalistani men will never find a wife then. They abort female fetuses in millions like the Chinese & they aren't even forced to follow a one child policy like the Chinese, yes other religious groups in India also do this, but census reports show that Sikhs are the very worst regarding this.
They should love their baby girls more! This is a sincere advice-love your daughters. Then thrall be more Sikhs in the future generation, more Sikh women=more children, a religion depends on its women, instead on focus sing on a Khalistan, which if formed will certainly not be able to exist for long due to its lack of women.
Guru Nanak was a good man, other Sikh gurus were good too, they were against caste system, allowed widow remarriage etc.
Same as any other religion. You are more than entitled to believe what you want as long as you don't force it on me. Freedom of religion is a beautiful thing.
In regards to me, the men are always very respectful, even though I'm a stranger and a woman. The women seem quite content and are allowed to wear the most beautiful fabrics and gold. (I live near Little India in my city). I've always found the men to be very attractive, mostly because they trim their beards and don't leave it to grow out like a dirty bird's nest.
I used to think they were the most peaceful and happy people of many religions but recently, they celebrated a special holiday in the city's downtown and they were carrying provocative posters with pictures of girlie-looking Sikh men who apparently were antagonists in some sort of clash of religions or territories over in their own homeland. Then, a scuffle broke out and one Sikh stabbed another with his "kipping" which is SUPPOSED to be just a religious relic instead of a concealed weapon.
Now, I'm suspicious. But if nothing else escalates from those previous events, I will go back to my original opinion again.
They don't actively pursue changing the laws of my country, they don't wage wars against my countrymen, they don't wake me up in the early mornings to convert me, they don't commit acts of terrorism. For that, I have a positive view on the religion. Live and let live, that's what religions should be doing.
Sikhism and Waheguru are two different things, Sikhism is a religion like Hinduism Islam etc etc and Waheguru is a name of supreme Lord God, therefore do not take them in the same sense. Waheguru is bestowed as a Guru Mantra on baptism in Sikh religion, like Ram in Hinduism, Allah in Islam etc etc.
Sikhism is defined in the following hymns
