Default Why many Hindus till today don't consider Sikhism as separate / independent religion

This is a sort of poll . Just want answers from Hindus .
Why they feel repelled and offended if someone says the truth that "Sikhism is not same as Hinduism "?
Why do they despise Tat Khalsa Movement ?
@ nerd linger , why should we not be proud of our identity ?
it is not for free . millions of Sikhs have given their lives just so that I can be a Sikh .
@ amazing , I agree that Sikhism is a diatomic religion , but some people are taking very wrong impressions

Because it is similar enough to Hindu teachings that it fits within the range of variation within Hindu teachings. This is not to diminish Sikhism in any way; we just don't see it as greatly different from us.

I do not despise Sikhs or their traditions. I am only opposed to those who are much more dedicated to their identity than to their religious teachings. This goes for people of all religions.

PS. If you are the guy who keeps blocking me for innocuous answers like this, I think you need to have some more flexibility at least in your ability to understand other people's viewpoint. Such answers are not meant to offend but merely to offer a legitimate viewpoint.

EDIT: I am not saying you can't be proud of your identity, but identity cannot become dominant and become a source of division, especially when the religious teachings themselves warn against creating divisions.

Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Sikhism are all Arya Dharma... and all have a lot in common. Gandhiji said there is no difference. Guru Nanakji said there is no Hindu god, there is no Muslim god, there is just God... Hindus believe the same: All gods are Brahman. (You say Waheguru, we say Brahman... but they are the same.)

Why are you wasting your and our time on proving Hindus wrong always?

Tell good things about Sikhism, if you are a real Sikh (not a Pakistani agent)

By your controversial questions and by insulting Hindus (as i saw in yr previous questions), you are actually insulting Sikhism and Nanak

Wake up if you are a Sikh

get lost if you are a Pakistani troll

Aspirant, I liked your previous answer to a question and that is why I added you as a contact. I didn't know you despised Hindus so much.

To be honest, Hindus don't see Sikhs as too different--and I don't think that is demeaning in anyway. All it means is we can relate to you. Fact is that Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism are younger than Hinduism. And having said that you can understand that the younger ones did in fact take certain Hindu beliefs and incorporate them. All the founders were at one time Hindu....they were taught Hinduism. They took what they liked, added and highlighted certain aspects. Hinduism is so broad that the concept of atheism can fit.

So why can't Sikhism? Just as Catholics, Protestants, Islamic, Judaic followers are distinct yet branches of each other and have similar core beliefs, so is Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism.
You do realize that the Abrahamic religions can't stand each other. I hope that doesn't happen with us. So far I think we haven't lost our human spirit enough to find more differences, instead we share so many more similar qualities.

This is in no way to diminish you. No. Through time certain aspects are different but not enough.
I don't mean to offend you. I just hope you can understand our point of view.

Peace.
