Question: I would like YOUR thoughts on this, please? *Hinduism & sikhism*?
I met a Hindu girl today - we were both waiting at reception, and just started to talk to each other to pass time...
The conversation just became awkward when she told me Hinduism was just a fairytale, written by many people through the years. This is what she said, 'Hinudism started off as a fairy tale - the tale of Rama & sitar. And people just kept adding bits to it, and suddenly they made a book. And then Rama & sitar, became gods, and that's what Hinduism is all about, but not many Hindus know'.
She said she was a practicing Hindu UNTIL she had come to learn about everything in Hinduism.
And strangely enough, I had a conversation with a sikh girl (also a stranger) who told me how sikhs are following a book written by a muslim, and how sikhs hate on muslims because a muslim guy killed guru nanak.
She then goes on to say that ''the king, during nanak's lifetime, was a bad muslim who drank, womanised etc, and how nank was against this & so made an 'idea' & planned to fight against the tyranny of the king.
The king (who's muslim & who had muslim soldiers) sent one of his men (who was obviously muslim) to kill nanak. Nanak had Islamic views - people say he was muslim. & A muslim man wrote the Sri Guru Granth Sahib.''
What are your thoughts on this?
Isn't it amazing how many hindus & sikhs actually Know what they are following is wrong, but don't care & yet hate on Islam?
Hinduism is not a religion, it is the accumulation of thousands of individual religions into one ?thing? which they called Hinduism, and it has been altered, it?s a tailor made religion you could say to suit the audience.
Ask for Sikhism, what's that like, 400 years old or something.

Religion to us Muslims comes in priority,but not to others.
Correction- the term Hinduism coined by foreign occupiers actually mean an umbrella of traditions,superstitions and beliefs of the people by the river Sindhi,and not just Rama-sita story.Initially it was Santana Dev drama(religion without end/beginning).To revive some of medic monotheist principles, arya samajists and brahmo samajists took action,renounced idol worship.I know this because my benchmate is orthodox hindu brahmin and is an idolterer.He says they need the idol to concentrate on the greater being,and tried to draw the Kaaba into comparision.I explained him that it wasnt so but he doesnt gets convinced.
The guru granth was written by both hindus and muslims.The sikh community may not be the ummah but they do islam(submit).
Man... not many know this but Hinduism derived from Pakistan during her Bronze Age. Yes.. Ancient Pakistan was a super mighty empire/civilization in that region.
The very 1st person who refer this people of the Indus river(now Pakistan) as Indoos/Hindus was Cyrus the Great.
I dint know much about Sikhism tho but i do have few Sikh friends and 1 converted to Islam few years back. He told me he was a staunch Sikh and he said Sikhism is very much similar to Islam.

Your both friends are wrong or wrongly interpret. Hindus are not only followers of Sita and Ram, there are three main Gods(similar to trinity in Christians). Rama is considered an avatar of Vishnu. Many Hindus like Arya Samajis consider this story as myth but others believe in this and thousands people killed on the name of Ram birth place, which they claim Babar(a Muslim king) changed into a mosque.
Regarding Sikhism, the facts you provided are wrong. No one killed Guru Nanak, he died naturally. Regarding Guru Granth it is not written by Muslims but it was written under the direct supervision of Guru Arjan, the man who was blessed with task of writing was Brother Gurdas. Yes Guru Arjan did include versions of two muslim sufi saints Baba Farid and Sai Bheekhan Shah in Guru Granth along with versions revealed to Sikh Gurus and Hindu Bhagats and independents. However many muslims do not consider them muslims because in their version, Mohammad is not the last prophet and they also believed God lives in people.
If Sikhs hated Islam, the versions of muslim saints would not enter in Guru Granth Sahib. In fact Islamists regard Sikhs as Kaffirs but Sikhs do not reciprocate it. Guru Forbids it. Muslims did not kill Guru Nanak but martyred Guru Arjan by boiling him in hot water couldron and also martyred Guru Teg Bahadur and his wife and his grandsons as young as five and seven years old. Muslims do not call Aurangzeb as bad muslim, infact still there are roads in Pakistan on his name. Hindus are also like muslims they have airports, universities on the name of Sikh killers.

i can certainly answer the part regarding Sikhism...
FIRST, Sikhism is not a Hinduism or Islam, not a mix either. People may be confused because Sikhism religious scripture has writings of Muslim and Hindu saints....our gurus respected these saints and so do we.....but we are a separate religion...
The ninth from of guru Nanak ...guru Reg behead was approached by hindu pundits..the pundits said our religion and our people is being wiped out by the muslin ruler arungzaeb...he is enforcing islam on us, can u help us.... guru teg bahadur said yes in order for your religion to survive an heavenly incarnation of god will have to give thier life (be martyred)...his nine year old son who was to become the next guru ..said father you are the one who is the incarnation of God at this time on earth and you must give your head so that the hindu religion would stay alive...guru teg bahadur was impressed and said ..yes my son! this is what I am execting of you...
long story short..guru teg baahdur said go tell aurunzaeb" that if he can convert the sikh prophet guru teg bahdur to islam all hindus will convert to islam also"....guru ji then headed for delhi and aurngzeb said you should become muslim I will make you one of my head preists....guru ji said no , "you think you can turn 2 religions into one, only islam...this is not God's will, what is gods will will happen not what is your will...according to gods will there will be a third religion also sikhism.
aurunzeb became enraged and had guru ji executed.
