?I don?t see any difference between praying Salah behind a Jahmi or a Shia and a Christian or a Jew. They are not to be greeted, nor are they to be visited, nor are they to be married, nor is their testimony to be accepted, nor are their sacrifices to be eaten.?
Sahih Bukhari (Khalq Af?Elul-?Ibaad, p.14)
Apparently, you're not even suppose to make eye contact with us Shias according to your beloved "sahib" (100% authentic) Bukhara
mecca laryngitis: This hadeeth is straight out of the scriptures of your authentic books. I was taught about it FROM a Sunni! I would expect you to follow your Sunni "philosophies." Why you are calling ME corrupted, when I purely stated a VALID fact, and not an opinion makes no sense to me. By the way, look up Volume 7, Book 64, Number 268 of Bukhari and see how authentic HE says he is hahaha
white donkey: your book about shias is written by a salafi. only a total idiot reads about other religions from their enemies. no wonder youre so savagely belligerent and unreasonably closed minded!
we are all MUSLIMS
this lady wanted me to marry her son
he was also a med student
everyone was happy until both sides found out that my family was Sunni
and their family was Shina
i didn't see a difference but both sides disagreed to the marriage
Did you ever saw a Democrat man and a Republican woman to marry?
If that's possible, Shia Sunni marriage is also possible.
Difference between Shia and Shunni is only political.
Both follow the same religion Islam.
The only criteria required for a Muslim woman marrying a man is that he should be Muslim. People who consider shies to be non-Muslims will obviously rule against the permission of you doing so.
One thing, neither God's book nor His Prophet's authentic Hadith ever make mention of the Sunni-shia issue. This is something that developed in the years after wards.
Opinions are and will always be subject to argument and controversy, even if it includes those which are true. The trouble is that many scholars have cited their opinion on the status of shies, but hardly ever without some bias. A Muslim is a person who believes in the true One God and accepts Muhammad S as his last messenger, and lives his life in subordination to Allah. I don't think Shias go in contradiction to any of these first two important beliefs- they accept Allah, they accept His Prophet S, so why tag them so blatantly as unbelievers? Yes, their opinions may differ in a lot of areas, but don't we all disagree on one thing or the other? In regard to subordination to God, we all deserve equal blame for our serious neglect in this regard. This is a problem of all Muslims.
Lawfully, you can marry this man, however if you feel due to a difference of opinion the marriage cannot be successful, then you should reconsider your choice.
One word at the end; our Prophet S never called himself a Sunni nor a Shina (only unauthentic Hadith are brought up to stand in false testimony of this), he only considered himself God's servant and a Muslim. It's time we started considering ourselves the same as well.
May God give us guidance.
Assalam o Alaikum WA armadilllAIiarakatuh.
Hope you are fine and in good health.
As to the question of what Shiah beliefs are:
It is permissible to marry to shiah?
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
?And do not marry Al-Mushrikaat (idolatresses) till they believe (worship Allaah Alone). And indeed a slave woman who believes is better than a (free) Mushrikah (idolatress), even though she pleases you. And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikoon till they believe (in Allaah Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik (idolater), even though he pleases you. Those (Al-Mushrikoon) invite you to the Fire, but Allaah invites (you) to Paradise and forgiveness by His Leave, and makes His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to mankind that they may remember?
And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
From Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa?imah, 2/264
You have to advise your uncle and cousin, and tell them about the fatwas of the scholars concerning this issue. If your uncle insists on marrying his daughter to a Shi?i, then refer the matter to the sharee?ah court to prevent this evil action.
And Allaah knows best.
is it allowed to pray behind a shia?
With regard to preying behind one who is of this nature, Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
?It is not permissible to pray behind any of the mushrikeen, including those who seek the help of anyone other than Allaah and seek support from him, because seeking help through anyone other then Allaah, such as the dead, idols, the jinn, etc. is shirk, the association of others with Allaah, glorified be He.?
Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz (vol. 2, p. 396)
And he said: one should not pray behind any imaam who is known to exaggerate concerning the Ahl al-Bayt (members of the Prophet?s household). If no such thing is known about him or any other Muslim, then it is OK to pray behind them.
Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, vol. 12, p. 107
Hope i helped.
Jazakalllah for posting this question.
Can a Sunni Muslim woman and a Shina man marry each other?]
NO, according to the Shia faith and ideology, Sunnis and all other non Shiites are PLAIN KAFIRS or infidels.

Usul AL-Kafi Book 4: The Book of Divine Proof
Chapter 87 One who dies without recognizing his Imam
472. 1. Prophet Muhammad (p): Anyone who dies without recognizing his God-ordained Imam (p) dies an infidel.
-- -- --
^According to the above if you don't recognize the rule of one thousand year old Imam Mahdi, ''the hidden one'', you die a non- Muslim.
@ Uzma..C : ''Are you Shia that you know what our belief is?''
- 'Are you sure that you know what our (shia) belief is?'
I know Shiaism because I've spent more then 200+ hours studying Shiaism (12er) from sites like al-islam.org or answering-answer.com.
I don't care what you personally believe or not believe, I'm quoting al-kafi which dictates the fundamentals of your beliefs.
@Baby one more time!: Now now I know lying is a part of your faith, please don't lie for Ali's sake nor be ashamed of your faith.
And as for your rest of your claims 'isnad, authenticity etc, go bring proof. I'll not waste time otherwise.
LOL, again twisting my words. My point was that the imam or the guide for Muslims is Koran not some 'chap claiming to be an imam, while hiding in the cave for last 1000 years'.
Isn't for you ithna ashari your imam or guide for now is your hidden imam mahdi, chap whom you claim to your the imam of all times? Non 12-ers don't believe in such a chap hence they are infidels.
Anyone who takes the Shahdah is Muslim. So I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get married, but seriously you should read up on how the Shia treat their women before marrying a Shia. Don't bother asking them either as they'll deny it. Just because they worship Allah (SWT) in slightly different ways doesn't make Shia any less Muslim than Sunni or Salafi.
Sunnis and Shias may marry each other, it's the wannabees who make, unsurprisingly, make a big deal out of it, declaring Sunnis who marry Shias to be gaffers. Shia scholars do not say anything against Shias marrying Sunnis. You only have wannabees who use this chance to once again divide Muslims up and bring about their fit nah.
A Sunni may marry a Christian or Jew, those who reject Allah SWT and the Holy Prophet SAAW, but cannot accept to marry a Shia who only rejects their three Caliphs? Who's more important, the Prophet SAAW or the Caliphs?
@ Darth Soul Keeper: That Hadith is in Sunni books as well...... so are they fairs according to their Hadlee??? And why don't you show the Isnad of that Hadith? That's what anti-Shina people do all the time, saying it's all in their own books and when you check it, it's classified as WEAK!
Ibn Abu Asim in his book AL-Sunnah, page 489 records this Eadith:
?? ??? ???? ???? ???? ??? ???? ??????
Whoever dies without having an Imam dies the death of Jahiliyyah.
Shaykh al-Albani in his commentary on the hadith, writes:
?????? ??? ?????? ????
Its chain is Hasan and all of its narrators are Thiqah.
Imam Muslim has recorded this one in his Sahih, Kitab al-Imarah:
?? ??? ???? ?? ???? ???? ??? ???? ??????
Whoever dies without having on his neck bayah (to an Imam) dies the death of Jahiliyyah.
Lastly, Imam Ibn Hibban has recorded in his Sahih, Volume 7 page 49:
?? ??? ???? ???? ??? ???? ??????
Whoever dies without an Imam dies the death of Jahiliyyah.
Any Sunnis that call Shea's non Muslim or any Shina that calls Sunnis non Muslim are the one who are wrong.( i mean did Allah make them a judge or is Allah the only judge and he will judge both Sunnis and shies for the actions.)
