Sunni Sunni Muslims are the largest group in Islam, comprising the vast bulk (80-90%) of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims, hence the title Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamā‘ah (people of the tradition and union)

Default what is the difference between an islamic shia republic and an islamic sunni republic

I heard Gaza is an Islamic state, also Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and I don't what state has declared the Islam as an official religion, specially where Sunni Muslims are the majority, the only Islamic Shina republic is Iran no? what makes the difference? I heard Iran and Saudi Arabia are similar in the justice system Anton other religions can be part of the government or to freedom to practice another religion except in Iran where it supposes to be a christian community and jew community.. I am reading about the laws of this states.

both are Muslim & of course brothers.Shina & sunnies have similar system of thinking (Shina have better idea for future,I offer you to research about Islam before Shina & Sunni) in Iran,Afghanistan,Iraq,Bahrain,Qatar,... Shina Muslims are the majority.in those countries the government based on Islamic republic.Shina have 12 Imam (P) & Sunni had 4 master leaders (maybe called imam I have not good idea for translate this!) all of them were good peoples.shia have an imam who is hidden from people & will come back very soon!(same masih (P)) in other side shia have more activity & connections to people from other religions.I know people have permission to pick any religion (jew, christian, sunni, shia, zartosht) but can not leave a islamic branch (it have very strong reasons).in iran

Assalamualaikum (Peace be upon you)

There are a few countries in the world which are Islamic Republics, examples being Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Mauritania. Where there is a Shia majority, you could call that a Shia Islamic Republic egg Iran and it's similar where there is a Sunni majority. Iran and Saudi Arabia are similar in that both countries enforce the Sharia Law however freedom of religion is allowed in Iran though it's not so apparent in Saudi Arabia.
