The natural balance of all that is and all that is not. Tao is all things and it is nothing.

In the movie "STAR WARS", the force was written as a take off from Taoism/Buddhism.

Yin and Yang are the heart of Taoism.
All things balance.

ALL THINGS!
big-small, fast-slow, man-female, thin-fat.
You can never have one with out the other.

All things have opposites that support and compliment each other.

Taoism is one of the 2 religions of China(the other one being 'Confucianism'), which was founded more than 2,500 years ago, by Lao Tzu(actually, many Taoists say it existed before Lao Tzu).

"Tao" means the "Way," & it is all about man's relationship with nature.

Taoism is a polytheistic religion with many deities. Ancestor worship also plays a role in Taoism.

Taoism started as a combination of psychology and philosophy but evolved into a religious faith in 440 CE. According to Taoists, their religion in indefinable...it has to be "felt." Tao can be translated into English meaning "path." One of their beliefs is in yin & yang (the belief that with good there comes bad, with dark there comes light, etc. ) To further understand Taoism you might want to research yin & yang further....

The second paragraph summarizes the Taoist on page #8 in the Zhuan Falun lecture available in the web.

Note that the Taoism belongs to the Taoist Schools,.
