Beats me. They are both confusing ancient Chinese philosophies. It doesn't bring you happiness or peace of mind.

The two are entirely different.

Confucius (551 BC ? 479 BC) was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, and justice. He attempted to establish an ethical and political doctrine.

Taoism has many branches and traditions, and Tao is usually translated as a path or way, a means to understand the natural order and our relationship with Reality, but in contrast to practical Confucianism, Taoism is related to internal transformation. The Tao Te Ching, is widely considered to be the most influential Taoist metaphysical text using metaphor to communicate transcendent wisdom.

Taoism: anarchy :: Confucianism: conformism.
