Default Taoism or Buddhism ... Which one is more interesting to learn about?

Which one should I take a class on?

it depends on the person
both are equally interesting
read up a bit on both of them and then you decide

Why not learn about all religions?

Why just one?

I took a class that covered both and they are both fascinating. If you enjoy learning about religions, you can't afford to pick just one!

There are about a dozen or so sects in Buddhism. Taoism had a brief offshoot that was interesting, but it's source text, the Tao Te Ching, is very short and it just says there is a balance to the universe and that the Tao is like a metaphysical law of nature, so I'd suggest Buddhism if you like to learn, Taoism if you like an easy A.

Read some Alan Watts and learn about both. And listen to some of his spoken 'talks' on the two, which can be very informative and enlightening.

Btw, I'd read and study the Tao Te Ching before touching on 'Taoism' since it's kind of a corruption of the book. In other words, Taoism does not equal Tao Te Ching.
