"does it really related to zen or not?"

Probably not(though I know that people can practice both religions at the same time), as Zen is a Buddhist sect.

Taoism is more complementary to Confucianism, as they are both from China & the founders of both religions knew each other.

This is for Dave:

Taoism is **NOT** Buddhism. Taoism & Buddhism are 2 different religions(though they maybe observed simultaneously).

Taoism(as I already mentioned)is from China & Buddhism is from India, & is an offshoot of Hinduism.

The Tao-te-ching is a wonderful text. I am a Gnostic and it is an eastern version of much of our teachings.

I like the part where it says you have to let go of everything to hold on to anything. The more you hang on, the more you lose. Whenever I feel too attached to someone or something and I feel things are not going the way I want them to, I try to remember this. Then I mentally let go and find that eventually things turn around on their own, without my hanging on to them.

I found Dr. Wayne W. Dyer's latest book ``Change your thoughts change your life" - Living the wisdom of the TAO,
very very interesting. Dr. Dyer's translation is extremely wise and well put.

Of course this can be related to our lives, IF, we wish to open ourselves to other ways of thinking. I read anything that I feel could enhance my life and make me aware of great ancient writers like LAO-TZU. The more investigation and questions we ask the more we will understand what life is all about.

I like Taoism, Taoism is Buddhism without the hang ups. It is not zen.
At all cost the Christian must convince others to believe in God. At all cost others fight to the contrary, The Taoist sage sits quietly enjoying the Tao with no need to affirm or Deny the existence of God but enjoying all that is.
