Default What are the core principles of Taoism?

Jesus said (and I'm paraphrasing) that the essence of Judeo-Christian values was to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Can anybody sum up the principles of Taoism as succinctly so that I can improve my understanding? Thanks.

Balance, Taoists dint believe there is a black and white, they believe in Grey too. they are not dualistic as the Christians think they are.

The movie star wars has a religion called Jedi, it is actually a rip off of Taoism.

Most Taoists and far east religions dint like integrating with western beliefs, because some of it can be damaging spiritually.

Taoism - all things exists as the Tao, which is the great union.
"Being and non-being create each other.
Difficult and easy support each other.
Long and short define each other.
High and low depend on each other.
Before and after follow each other."

These opposites exist in unison with each other. They define each other.

So both together in balance and harmony... by understanding this balance you gain wisdom.

"Fill your bowl to the brim
and it will spill.
Keep sharpening your knife
and it will blunt.
Chase after money and security
and your heart will never unclench.
Care about people's approval
and you will be their prisoner."

Well, the following are the "Taoist commandments," if you will, found in the 8Th chapter of the Tao Te Ching;

"In dwelling, live close to the ground.
In thinking, keep to the simple.
In conflict, be fair and generous.
In governing, don't try to control.
In work, do what you enjoy.
In family life, be completely present."

Personally, I would say the core philosophy of Taoism is to release your need for control.

According to Taoism, you will make yourself miserable trying to control things that aren't under your control, such as other people, and the future. The Tao Te Ching suggests that, instead, you should learn to accept and love things as they are and count each moment of life as a blessing, regardless of the circumstances.
