Default Atheist, what is your view on the philosophy of Taoism? If 5 billion people were Taoi

How do you think you would be influenced if the the biggest religion in the world was Taoism, even here in the western world. What could you say even against it.

The amount of people who believe something without any evidence doesn't count as evidence.

I don't know anything about it to make any assertions. If it was that popular, I would have some knowledge about it, but since it isn't, I don't.

If Taoism were trying to incorporate religious beliefs into the laws I live by, I would probably have plenty to say about it. Right now, where I live, the Christians are the only ones doing that.

Taoism is a philosophy. It doesn't matter how many people follow it, argument um ad popular um is a fallacy.

I do not accept Taoism because it does not reflect reality. It is too passive.

Some of Taoism is just silly stuff, such as claims of living to be over 200 years old.

Other stuff, a sense of balance makes sense.

But as beliefs it is just beliefs, which is wishes and nonsense.

"Atheist, what is your view on the philosophy of Taoism?" Same as other religions-ridiculous crap. " If 5 billion people were Taoist would you be one?" No. Argument ad populism=fail. "How do you think you would be influenced if the the biggest religion in the world was Taoism..." I would deal with its stupid crap the way I deal with other religion's stupid crap. "What could you say even against it." No evidence. Deeply sexist (with an UN-healthy side dish of homophobia). Chock full of woo. Eastern religions have their own fair share of nasty brutal history, westerners just focus on it less because it affects our lives less, not because it is sweet and bubbly.

ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God ? any God ? not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!

The largest at the moment is BUDDHISM ? Religious teaching from Buddha and his followers that by destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the cause of all suffering) man can attain perfect enlightenment!

But without a god TAOISM - A system of religion and philosophy based on the teachings of Lao-Te 6Th century Chinese philosopher advocating a simple and honest life and non interference with the course of natural events Obviously fits the bill also!
