Default taoism vs. buddhism ?

Im really interested in them. Whats the basic difference?

Buddhism was original religion and Taoism is an off shoot of it!

Taoism is more go with the flow of nature whereas Buddhism is the 4 noble truths (about life being suffering) and following the eightfold path to stop being reborn and escape the life described by the 4 noble truths

Well Taoism is an actual religion with gods they pray to and stuff, it has rules

Budhism is very tolerant of other religions

I only know alto on Taoism, my parents used to practise it (Lil we're not Asian) but I don't know alto on Buddhism sorry

Taoism is basically a religion based upon the respect for nature, whereas Buddhism, the more popular religion, focuses on the teachings of Buddha, and getting rid of desire(achieving Nirvana)

I like the idea of Taoism better, but the first answer is right, there are a lot of potheads in that religion.
