All i know is that Taoism is a reaction to Confucianism.

I'm not exactly sure, just don't read the Tao of Pooh. That book is biased.

Go to the Wikipedia article on Taoism or the website WNW.religioustolerance.org for more information on this fascinating religion. Many Asian people consider themselves to be Taoists, Buddhists, and Confucianists all at the same time!
