That is a question left to be unanswered. How can anyone truly give you an honest and solid proof answer to that.
I think the best answer would be net heir. Including Christianity, Hinduism, Buddism, Taoism, etc.

Unfortunately, your question contains two fallacies, circular reasoning and false analogy. Therefore, any answer would be based on circular reasoning. So, the only answer to your question is "neither."

Taoism, I would think, but both are compatible with nature and reality of human psychology. Working in balance is the key in both. Taoism actually had it's foot hold in herbalism and medicine from plant and natural sources. Also recommended is to not eat certain animals where in Buddhism it is recommended to not any living animal, but will make exceptions due to human nature. It will always stand in question to which will lead us to a better spiritual balance. Yin and Yang will always be in conflict but in harmony.

One interpretation:

If one notes the Theravadic Scripture of Lord Gautama stating He Taught from a position of Realization in Atman, then surely Void is master able, from the original Buddha Mind of Lord Gautama. (This Void becomes, in the usage of a genuine Master, the Yang-Yin spin or of "Nerti, Nerti"--"not this material phys is, not this mortal psychology.")

Lord Gautama thus demonstrates "the Way, the Truth, and the Life."

This teaching was appropriated, at least in part, by some students of the Buddha.

As with some Taoists, whom e.g. Wang Bi notably corrected--there is a tendency in later Buddhist theologiannago RIFFYnd/or mystify Being--thence, no clear demonstration of Atman, original Buddha nature, Way.

"The Path of the Higher Self," Mark Prophet, discusses some aspects of your question.
