Taoist thought is about trying to find balance everywhere.

Confucianism is about being subservient to superiors.

So if you like calling girls in leather 'Queen', Confucianism. Otherwise I'd say Taoist thought *CAN* lead to happiness, it's just more work.

Well...you won't be happy either way unless you truly, honestly believe in your religion.

I think that it is said Taoism is not a religion but a way of life. I'd say Taoism can bring true happiness if you truly understand it's principles. But you can always be happy no matter what, Taoism just teaches you easier and faster ways to become happy if your not.

The Tao teaches the natural order of all things, Confucianism teaches filial piety (respecting ones parents)

The two ideologies are in harmony with each other. Taoism is the spiritual world and Confucianism the physical world. Embrace both and happiness will follow.

Confucius ? Respectfulness, without the rules of propriety, becomes laborious bustle; carefulness, without the rules of propriety, becomes timidity; boldness, without the rules of propriety, becomes insubordination; straightforwardness, without the rules of propriety, becomes rudeness.

Lao Tzu ? The Tao that is voiced is no longer that of eternal Tao. The name that has been written is no longer that of eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of the cosmic universe. The named is the mother of the myriad creatures.
Being at peace, one can see into the subtle. Engaging with passion, one can see into the manifest.
The both arise from a common source but have different names. Both are called the mystery within the mystery. They are the door to all wonders.
