Voodoo is considered a religion, a combination of ancestral African, Native American, and Roman Catholic beliefs. Hoodoo is a system of superstitious folk magic tied in with the Voodoo religion. It started to emerge in the Caribbean in the16Th and 17Th centuries. The island-nation of Haiti is often considered the 'capital' of the Voodoo/Hoodoo belief system, a country that is suffering immeasurable poverty, despite the alleged 'powers' of voodoo spirits and magics...

Voodoo and hoodoo are both directives of the African religion Verdun. Due to diaspora from Africa to Haiti the religion was carried on to he western world, but in New or liens and the Mississippi delta it was called voodoo or hoodoo. It is not what people think and the dolls were never actually used by anyone who practiced the religion they were used by slaves to scare their masters who were ignorant about the religion, then made famous by Hollywood and comic books. I forget which websites are actually good to get real info from, but if they are trying to offer a magic kit or some kind of hex it is total BS. As far as the Ouija board it is similar to a voodoo doll complete crap and superstition, there is no devil it is the people using it and their reactions

Well, first of all Vodou and Hoodoo have nothing to do with Ouija boards. That's something made up for the movies.

Vodou/Verdun/voodoo are derived from African spiritual systems based on honoring the ancestors and maintaining spiritual balance. There are numerous web sites and books about the subject if you have an interest. Please see below.

Be well,
