Voodoo and hoodoo are both directives of the African religion Verdun. Due to diaspora from Africa to Haiti the religion was carried on to he western world, but in New or liens and the Mississippi delta it was called voodoo or hoodoo. It is not what people think and the dolls were never actually used by anyone who practiced the religion they were used by slaves to scare their masters who were ignorant about the religion, then made famous by Hollywood and comic books. Well, first of all Vodou and Hoodoo have nothing to do with Ouija boards. That's something made up for the movies.
