i asked a friend a friend of mine why voodoo is a religion he said its like any other religion, then he asked me why Athiasm is a religion? HM yea Athiasm is not a religion! But then another friend asked if voodoo really works, my friend says yes it does, but all the sites Ive gone to about voodoo says you have to believe for it to work. id love to try a voodoo doll, not a revenge nor love but any other one, my friend said it really works and he told me the story about how he knows blah blah blah, i dint believe its s religion CZ i dint believe in religion, so could i still want to practice with it?
can i practice voodoo on myself?
for things like this to work, you must believe in it to the point you feel you have REAL power.
the other part is, your "target" for lack of a better word.....must think you have this power to
same idea as hypnosis....
bunk, bunk, bunk
want proof?...go ask a voodoo type person to work a root up and make you fart...fart all day long, no real pain or anything wrong....just bad bad gassy day....and wait
when it don't happen....you'll know it's crap
by the way...take that test to a church with you...same results.
Like other forms of magic or religion, it doesn't work. Think about it. If voodoo magic worked, wouldn't people in Haiti use it make their lives better?
Yeah you could, but since you don't believe in religion not sure why you are playing with religious objects? But from a bible point of view, the bible does warn persons when they want to entertain themselves with such things. What every the reason is, for some set of circumstances, a person eventually will suffer anything from physical, and sometimes psychiatric problems when they get involved with that stuff. To be kind I did not mention Satan or Demons for you. But the results are the same.
Voodoo works by enlisting spirits to either help or hinder. In Voodoo it is believed that each person has a spirit that is bound to them like a guardian angel, there are other spirits that are either helpful or harmful. The Bible tells of the Powers and Principalities of the air,it is the same.
Those that call on the service of the spirits often become their victims. That is why there are few real Houngan or Manbo.
OK, look at Haiti and Cuba (home of Santeria which is similar to Voodoo). Both are are considered to be the only 3rd World countries in the Western Hemisphere. Both Hatians and Cubans risk their lives to go to the USA. Haiti is the AIDS capital of the world. Does it sound like it works for them???
Robert Tallant exposed the ingredients of Voodoo oils in "The Voodoo In New Orleans". Turns out "Love Oil" is just strawberry essential oil. "Flying Devil Oil" is olive oil and red pepper, and "Black Art Oil" was just motor oil. People that bought these items were simply being taken.
The occult doesn't work. Read about the lives of famous occultists:
To use a voodoo doll you are working sympathetic magic. This type of magic uses symbols of the person and the desired effect to bring about the change. Voodoo dolls have nothing to do with Vodou at all. They have a lot to do with Hoodoo though. Hoodoo is African American folk magic. It uses herbs, roots, flowers, stones, and other natural objects to perform magic.
Here is a website that explains how to use poppets or voodoo dolls as they are called. http://groups.msn.com/PaganHearthRecipes/poppetmagick.msnw
As your friend said Vodou is a religion. What is done in the religion does work. We honor the ancestors and we serve the Law. Which are not gods just elevated spirits. When we ask for something from the Law we get it. I myself have been healed many times by the Law when I was still skeptical about the religion. Vodou does work and you do not have to believe in it.
The use of magic and hoodoo is something different than Vodou. You can also learn about Hoodoo on leukemic.com. Since Hoodoo is magic and not religion then you would have no problem practicing it.
