Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile or Voodoo Child???

is it voodoo Chile or Child??? and if it is Chile whats the connection with the country?

Separate songs. Voodoo Chile is a 15 minute jam, and Voodoo Child is a 5 minute rocker. As for the connection to the country Chile, I'm not so sure about it. He sings "Cause I'm a Voodoo Chile" in the chorus.

I thought it was Child but then the radio said Chile (which I took to mean Chili as in some trip pin chili)

its Child but pronounced with a southern blues man twang so it sounds like CHILE.

Voodoo Chile is just a slang way of saying child......Boo.

"Voodoo Child (Slight Return)"'s genesis was essentially in "Voodoo Chile", a long blues jam featuring guests Steve Winwood and Jack Casady. On May 3, 1968 (the day after "Voodoo Chile"'s recording), a crew from ABC filmed the Jimi Hendrix Experience while they played. As Hendrix explained it:

"Someone was filming when we started doing that... We did that about three times because they wanted to film us in the studio?'Make like you're recording, boys.' So it was 'OK, let's play this in E, a one, a two, a three, and then we went into 'Voodoo Child (Slight Return)'".
