Actually, such a thing could never scare me, as it is from Satan and performed by those who serve him. God is greater than any created being, including the fallen angel, Lucifer.....
The ancient Christians that were not from Israel or Rome were afraid of everything... why do you think they destroyed so many cultural heritages where ever they went to conquer and pillage "heathen" lands to "liberate" them from their sinful wealth and lands, also then enslave them to "absolve" them from their sinfulness....
I am a Hindu and what i know is if you do voodoo and there are some black magic ritual if you do them and gain power of controlling other peoples mind or body or getting power to walk on water or jump from a mountain and not die means you have sold you soul to devil by doing these rituals
The Christians I know aren't afraid of that, they just dislike it because of the animal sacrifice thing. What people don't realize is that the animals are killed as humanely as they are when they are being killed for our food.
Yawn. If you want to invoke or pray to something else other than the Lord you may come up with some resistance. The source of the resistance is the Lord not wanting people to be that ignorant of Him.
