Jane...from the car??? let's plug the cars into the grid for our power then!!!

ca
disco Stu...your summation is of course exactly correct, what is of concern is that others don't

Despite research proving that voodoo is an exceptional perpetual motion food supply peace generator, the other three options all generate electricity that can be used to power electric cars.

There'd be tons of electric cars now if we could harness lib hot air.

Mostly non-renew ables. But it saves energy and reduces smog.

Hopefully in the future - Thorium based nuclear energy. But, Solar is becoming more and more cost competitive with fossil fuels and I'm betting that within the next 10 years, you will be able to shingle your house in thin film solar shingles that will provide all of your energy needs, depending on orientation and latitude.

Mainly Coal and Natural Gas.
The DOE released a study last year that clearly stated we would increase pollution and gas emissions by switching to electric cars based on the increased demand for electricity.
Then you add in the $8000 to $10,000 home charging system and the added insurance for charging batteries in your garage.
Green is a huge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ scam!

That would depend on your local power company and how what they derive there power from.

That would be A) coal...in most areas, anyways, since most power plants are coal-powered, and your electric car gets its charge from the wall socket. The only exception would be if your grid is powered by a nuclear facility, or if you have your home rigged to run off of solar or wind power. Some communities run off of wind power, but it is only a percentage, the difference comes from coal.

Mainly coal.

I'm all for increasing nuclear energy, but I'm against the military using the by-product to poison the earth.

Coal and perhaps less than 1% wind of those you mention. You could add oil, recycled waste and nuclear to the list. None from solar except in the very rare instance where a homeowner has installed their own solar panels. maybe some natural gas. The only voodoo going on is by socialists who ignore the facts of life.

the power company?
electromechanical devices called generators, that are powered a fluid (gas or liquid) by uses of a turbine most often?
other than photovoltaic all have a heat source that that gives its fluid energy that is then turned into electricity.
all electricity is derived from stars mostly from our sun (wind, solar, hydro, coal, bio mass etc.) nuclear is the exception it is from dead stars of long ago.

EDIT: if you are looking at what is most common in the USA it is Coal for now but alternative energy is on the rise and is higher than 5% right now.

Wow, Jane just invented perpetual energy! And I'll eat your hat when shingles of TFT hold up to a hail storm! Get real! There are no easy answers. You can't wish away, or hope away, or change away physics!
