Voodoo? Spells? Help!?

We bought out house last year. It was built in 1988. This morning, my husband found something in the crawl space above our bedroom closet. It was a pair of pantyhose. Inside of the pantyhose, there were 2 pieces of paper, both wrapped up in masking tape. We opened them up and found strange squiggles written with red pen. The notes also contained what looks like gravel, but looks very similar to cremated ashes. (Cremated ashes do not look like cigarette ashes, but more like gravel.) Any SINCERE opinions from people knowledgeable on the subject? Thank you.

Oh this happened to me. DO NOT GET A PRIEST that will make it worse. get a psychic and ask him or her. also she might give you candles that u might have to light on certain times to get rid of bad spirits. and please dint try to communicate with them. also the psychic might give u a special cream to rub on your feet so Ur safe wherever u walk your welcome.

Hmm. It would be helpful to me to know where your house is located. It makes me think that this is probably a spell of some kind. If I were you, I'd just put it back in the pantyhose and go bury it somewhere at least a mile from your house, preferably in the woods. It's okay that you opened it, because it's been there for so long that whatever it's original purpose was has long since passed. Just take it away and bury it. If you are still upset about this or afraid, you can get some sea salt and walk around the perimeter of your house with it or burn white sage in the closet space.
