Sort of... the main thing you need to know though, is that voodoo is satanic. You are supposed to find a curse and put it over a doll that has the persons hair on it and then do whatever you want with that person. but like i said, its satanic.

Voodoo is a spiritual tradition that evolved from a mixture of West African religious traditions, particularly a religion called Vodun, and Catholicism. It is most commonly practiced in the Southern United States and the Caribbean. There are different types of Voodoo, and these are related to specific areas. For example, New Orleans has its own traditions of Voodoo.

It is not a Satanic practice, nor is it related to Satanism in any way.

Voodoo is as said something that came from African religions it is hurting someone by trying to make a doll that contains the energy off the person that you want to hurt they believe all objects have energy in it and by putting someones hair on the doll that persons energy would connect the doll to the person then poking needles in the doll would hurt the person cause it somehow sends the pain to the owner of the hair it is black magic cause it makes your aura darker every time you do it I hope this answered your question if not maybe you should add details

Yes, but it'd be a LONG lecture. It is a mix of indigenous African religions the slaves brought with them, and Catholic/Christian imagery.

One of its most notable aspects is that voodoo practitioners pray for possession by their gods and goddesses, often known as "Lao spirits." It's as if in the middle of a Catholic mass, the priest were to be possessed by St. Francis of Assisi and began to do faith healing of parishioners.

It's a very practical religion. Gods can be bribed for favors, and enemies can be cursed or friends cured for the asking. There isn't any great morality to it from all I've read; there are no sins in voodoo. Either you give the spirits what they want in exchange for their help, or you don't.

As to they specific symbols or rituals, how much time do you have?

Voodoo is not Satanic, that's a completely different religion. Voodoo was a blend of African pantheon folklore mixed with Christian pantheon of the saints. It developed in the Bahamas among the different ethnic groups of slaves brought over from Africa and spread northward when slaves were brought into the American southeast (Louisiana, Mississippi, etc.).

Your best explanation will be the Wikipedia entry on it.

Voodoo is a religion that is used to worship Laos and other god and goddesses.

The creator in voodoo is called Gran Met, and is also known as Bondye. Gran Met created the world. He has long ago completed his work, and is believed to have returned to other worlds, or perhaps to eternal contemplation. He is a remote being and does not interact with humans. He is not worshiped directly because of his absence. He is a monotheistic deity.

According the voodoo belief, the soul is made of Gros Bone Ange ("big good angel") and ti Bone Ange ("little good angel") The Gris Bone Ange enters humans during conception. Ti Bone ange is your induvidual soul or essence. Ti bon ange journeys out of the body when one sleeps or is possessed by the Lwas. When someone dies, the soul will stay near the body for seven days. During this time the ti bon ange is vulnerable, and can be captured by a sorcerer. It can then be made into a spiritual zombie. If the soul has not been captured a priest ritually severs it from the body so that the soul may live in the dark waters for a year and a day. At that point, relatives ritually raise the soul, and put it in the govi, now referred to as espirit. The spirit is fed, clothed, and treated like a divinity. Later they are set free and abide among the rocks and trees until rebirth. Sixteen embodiments later, spirits merge into the cosmic energy.

Lwas are also refered to as Loas, Myst?res and the Invisibles. Vodouisants regularly interact with Lwas, making offerings to them and often being possessed by them so that the visiting lwa can directly interact with the community. The Lwas are often mistaken by others as gods. They kind of act as intermediaries between the physical world and Bondye. They are not simply prayed to, they are served. There are families/nations of Lwas, including Rada, Petro and Ghede.

Polytheism is the belief of multiple deities, called gods or goddesses, or both. Polytheists do not always worship all the gods equally. Monotheism is the belief in theology that only one deity exists. Some people argue that is is polytheistic because of Bondye. But it is actually monotheistic. There is Bondye who is the creator, and then other gods and goddesses are worshiped, such as Shango
