Default what to do if you receive a voodoo doll as a gift?

A friend and I were talking about voodoo dolls, and he said he has one with him. He asked me if I wanted it, I said no because I don't know how it works. He said it's okay. But I still say no. When I see him the following day, he brings the doll with him, and it has pins in them already. What should I do? should I give it back to him?

It doesn't do anything. It's all a bunch of BS. If you want to, you can hide the doll.

It's just a doll. Do what you want with it, but don't give it power by believing it's something else.

You could tell him that you find it creepy and ask him to take it back. It's probably a tourist souvenir kind of voodoo doll, and not a real one that could do harm to anyone, if you believe in such things. I think many cultures have held the belief that making a model or image of a disliked person and inflicting injuries upon the model could also inflict corresponding injuries upon the person
themselves. A voodoo doll is just another example of such a thing.

I stand corrected then. I'm European and we don't really have Voodoo, just witchcraft Lil. Making a poppet was always done with malicious intent here.

We tend to associate voodoo dolls with sticking pins into effigies of people in order to cause them pain. This is a mistake. Voodoo dolls,far from being used to torture people at a distance,are used to channel healing energy to them.
Apparently it?s meant to be a good thing to make a wooden model of someone and insert wooden pins into it at strategic points.

The malicious version of the practice comes not from Voodoo but from European Witchcraft. Witches would use poppets,dolls made to represent a person,in the way now associated with Voodoo.

Don't get your education from Hollywood movies like Hawkflight does.

I'm from Ireland,we don't have voodoo here either,but I know to have the facts before offering information.

2 Corinthians Chapter 6

14. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Ephesians Chapter 6

11. Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

13. Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Matthew Chapter 6

24. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

1 Corinthians Chapter 15

33. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

1 Timothy Chapter 1

2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

2 Thessalonians Chapter 3

Romans Chapter 16

17. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and of fences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Matthew Chapter 13

41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38. This is the first and great commandment.

39. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

31. [As for] God, his way [is] perfect; the word of the LORD [is] tried: he [is] a buckler to all them that trust in him.

John Chapter 14

1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.
