YES for Haiti.
My husband was in the military (Coast Guard) and saw first hand Voodoo rituals in Haiti.
He was also stationed in NOLA...and its is practiced but not to the same extent nor is it as "pure" a form as it is in Haiti. NOLA has a "variant" form of Voodoo
Every Sunday morning, in church's all across America, Voodoo is being practiced (they're just calling it something else).
In Haiti, as in many other countries, some type of "native" religion has mixed with Christianity and this mixture is exhibited in many of their rituals.
The "voodoo" that many Haitians practice, is the same "voodoo" practiced by many American Christians.
Voodoo is a common practice in New Orleans. However, I didn't know until the Earthquake that it is in Haiti, too. I was also surprised to learn Haitians speak creole. So, that is where the people of New Orleans came from. Always wondered actually.
Voodoo is alive and well in Nawlins, Haiti most of central and south Florida.
Santeria is practiced every hour of everyday in one form or another, If you
happen to see a very large Haitian woman with bones around her neck
giving you the evil eye, Count on it, You day isn't going to be worth a damn.
