I was at the store and saw the cutest little doll. i was going to use it as a key chain and just HAD to have it!!
the brand is called "Watchover Voodoo Doll". i got the character named "Venus" and a character description that reads, "to help other people fall in love and watch over their futures."
the Baku of the packaging read "Watchover Voodoo is for fun and if by keeping one of these dolls with you it helps with any aspect of your life then it is a good thing." and on the bottom reads: Handmade, this is not a toy.
SO.......... can someone please tell me:
if you know anything about this brand?
if this really is a voodoo doll, or just NAMED a voodoo doll?
if it is a real voodoo doll, does keeping it (even if i do not practice voodoo with it or at all for that matter) make me evil?
is voodoo evil at all?
is the doll itself evil?
OR....
is it just an adorable little accessory that is marked as a "voodoo" doll??

Yeah, you don't want that stuff in your home. It will not necessarily "make you evil" as you put it, but certainly the Bible does warn us to have nothing to do with the occult. Many people believe that even just having that in your house (even if you don't use it for that purpose) can allow demons to have access to your home.
Voodoo is a magical art that attracts demonic forces.
I personally would not want to own a voodoo doll, but without the witchcraft attached it's harmless.
Only the people that believe in the voodoo can be affected by it.
If you fear it, get rid of it.

I think voodoo dolls are only evil if you try to use them for harm but i personally don't really believe in that

It is likely not a legitimate voodoo doll, which would be too difficult to prepare for commercial sale.
Now, for some of the education you have asked for, voodoo is NOT evil. It is a group of superstitions, better known as a religion, just like any other, with the exception that no gods are specific to it--Which does NOT make it a cult, which is comprised of the worship of a god (sometimes made-up, as in, was not already considered a god by someone) along with its founder, often as a "prophet" (Christianity and Islam are the two most popular cults; Judaism is the religion they were based on).
The puppets known as voodoo dolls are actually various things; Most are meant to contain the souls of beloved ancestors or deceased friends so they can watch over you and help your life or the lives of others. Some are meant to hold the souls of a living person (NOT control their bodies) during modification, which in turn is not taboo but like a form of lifetime imprisonment, in which a criminal is controlled either by chemical or mental means by the local witch-doctor or chief to serve the community instead of committing crimes. Your voodoo doll would seem to be claiming to do the former; However, as I said, it is pretty much completely out of the question that it is authentic, even if the physical bit was made with authentic means and materials.
It could be a bad thing to own a Voodoo doll. It is not impossible for a maker/previous owner to use it for the purposes for which it is designed and even pass it on ( manufacturer or not).
An application of and utilization of--Evil is not impossible for people to apply to things. The doll might not be tampered with but it remains a sign of something that is traditionally a conductor of Evil. Have no mental, vocal or emotional link with it if you decide to keep it, but since you intended to buy something other than that, might not dispense with it and buy the sort of thing that carries no doubt as to its spiritual or moral value or lack of same.
There is no item on the planet that is innately evil.
It all depends on how and why you use it.
Regardless of how it is named, no doll can be a Voodoo Doll unless it contains a set of sympathetic targets - - - fingernail clippings, hair, or other parts of the person that you are aiming to have a magical effect on.
Even so, a Voodoo Doll CAN be used in a way that is not evil, even for Christians - - - if you believe in the Power of God as supreme, you have asked for His help in the matter but you haven't seen a result, and you take up the work (of magi ck) only to fulfill your own understanding of the matter. While you use/ activate the Doll, keep your love of God and your neighbor foremost in your mind and avoid all thoughts or intentions of malice or limitation.
For example, at one point I really needed to lose weight (I was about 300 lbs overweight); I had tried all kinds of diets and prayers, but I couldn't seem to stop eating sweets, and I had developed type II diabetes. So I made a Voodoo Doll of myself, using my own hair, making the 'bones' out of wood, 'muscles' out of rubber bands, and 'fat' out of wax. Then I did a Christian-focused ritual in which I repeatedly dipped the Doll in hot water, melting the wax off.
In about three weeks, without any forcing of myself to not eat or to exercises, I began losing weight at a rate of about 5 pounds every 6 months, and over the years since then I have lost and kept off a substantial amount of fat.
Evil is the lack of God in man's heart. God is Love. Without Love, there is nothing. Love is more powerful than evil. Love Loves not hates. Love teaches Love, not hate.
Voodoo is outside God's kingdom, therefore in Satan's kingdom, therefore evil.
Satan is Santa. All Denominations such as Lutheran, Buddhist, Catholics, Mormons, Illuminati, Scientology, and so on, I'm sure there are thousands if not millions of religions by now, are Demoninations and that is clear. However the Highway to Heaven is none of those. The Highway to Heaven is God in flesh, born in Bethlehem of Mary and Joseph the carpenter. Christ is that Highway.
