what is hoodoo/voodoo?

OK no i dint rely wanna get into this stuff.
i know that hoodoo is used for good i think and voodoo is usually used for bad things.
i know this stuff is bad usually in any type of case butt this is making me question my religion....
i know i shouldn't but yes thees have worked on people before love wise hurtful etc.
i just want some more info on it Ty.
but i rely want a more clear decryption of hoodoo

Honestly,they are both bad because they are going against the facts of religion,that's why by practicing them you eventually have to pay a very heavy price.

Hoodoo is a style of magic which is a combination of African, Native American, and European folk magic to do cures for people's problems. Voodoo is a religion made of a combination of African Irish worship and Catholicism, with a good dose of magic added. Some voodoo worshipers practice hoodoo, but they're not the same thing.

Hoodoo is just another form of voodoo...............

Hoodoo isn't used for good at all.

Essentially, Voodoo, properly splat Vodun in West Africa of Vodou in Haiti, is the religion.

Much as Christianity is not the same as prayer, Hoodoo is not the same as Voodoo. Voodoo is the religious belief behind it, Hoodoo is the actual ritual work and practise.

That is how I understand it anyway.

As for good/bad? Vodun is neither. Like all witchcraft or magi ck, it is completely neutral and only tempered by the intent of the user.

Voodoo, also known as Vodou or Santeria, is one of the earliest know religions. It originated in Africa and was outlawed during the slave trade. The idea behind that was to deprive slaves of spiritual hope so they wouldn't struggle as much. So much of the knowledge and teachings were left with broken tribes, left behind in Africa, or died off with the elder slaves. Later generations were left with the practices of the elders but no real knowledge of why. They continued them in secret and studied the results, passing on this knowledge to later generations. The vague remembrance of the word voodoo combined with the diminishing of their home languages and a poor teaching of English gave birth to the name "Hoodoo".

So, Voodoo is the true religion and Hoodoo is what is know today as folk magic. Neither is evil in any way, good and evil are human aspects. They only exists in us. Voodoo is in no way a hybrid or combination of any other religions. In fact, it served as the basis for Catholicism. The saints were modeled after the "Seven Africa Powers", also known as the "Orisha" (go ogle them). Catholicism was passed on to South America cultures as a way to convert them to a Christian faith by mirroring their practices and giving them a new name. Since they were doing the same things as they always had, it was easy for them to simply change the name (because whats in a name?).

All religions are meant for good. Its not generally used for bad, but for healing. the individual who practices it either uses it for good or harm. But the who VDUois just an african based religion that the catholics and white churches demonized so they could keep them enslaved. And that is the truth so why shouldnt the poor have the power to wreak vengence? They dont have money so shouldnt they atleast be able to return all the negative energy back and be free from oppression?
I can understand their cause before I can the oppressors of church and state.
