Default Whats all the big fuss about voodoo practises in African and Caribbean countries such

I too was disgusted when i heard about how voodoo involves drinking human blood, sex orgies and people cutting them selves with blades. But that was before i visited these Countries and found out the truth for me self. while some of the natives of these countries told me that there are isolated cases of voodoo where the above mentioned practices are been carried out , all what i saw at voodoo ceremonies were nothing but people beating drums, others dancing and a shaman sitting down and muttering a few words in some language no one understood.

I found it no different to a prayer service conducted at a Church, mosque or temple.

So why do mainly westerners link the word voodoo and witch craft with cannibalism mixed with sex orgies?
s,
I have travel led to almost every country other than a few former eastern European countries.
I started when i was 24 after i graduated from the university
s,

Yes, what is the big fuss over it...it's just another "religious" practice and I find it no different to a prayer service conducted at a church, mosque or temple.
Now, please listen to Lord Jimi Hendrix's song: VooDoo Child...
Love is the answer (!)

Any religious practices could be carried out in various ways with loving or darker motives. Intention is very important to go beyond mere appearances.
