Why is there so much voodoo in New Orleans?

I was watch in Princess and the frog, and usually directors or the creators of the movie will use real things as a resource to the movie, and i saw how there was so much voodoo and all that stuff that they believe. But why there so much voodoo in that area??

There's so much because they believe in it, and it's good for the tourist trade. Though, is it the cause of the tourist trade?????

There isn't. Voodoo does exist, but the reason you believe there is a lot of it in New Orleans is because of Hollywood films. The films are fiction.

Culture mix and the fact that its a dragon line of magical power set there.

Although there really isn't much Voodoo practiced in New Orleans these days, it is still practiced there and in other areas of South Louisiana. In years past, it was much more common, but even then it was practiced primarily by the less well-to-do portions of society. It resulted from a number of factors including the influence of African culture and, oddly, Catholicism.
