Why are you your religion? Must you question their faith?

It allows spirituality through truth and love, not dogma and fear. There are no guilt trips in Wicca.

That's taking quite a condescending attitude there, son. It's called a religious belief system. Why the fascination with ANY religious belief system?

I'm not Wiccan, so I can't actually answer your question.

I'm not Wiccan, but Pagan, which is close enough. I'm Pagan because it makes the most sense to me, I can see the earth, even touch it. My food, clothing, and shelter come from her. She is the evident cause and sustain er of life, without her, we wouldn't exist. It's a fact. Why not have respect for that which sustains my existence, would you bite the hand that feeds you?

For one thing, it's an alternative to patriarchal, oppressive, sex-negative religions like Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

I'm not a Wicca (seems like every body's making that disclaimer) so I can't really speak for those who are, but I can understand the draw for the above reasons.

I am a Wiccan because it is a spiritual path that is aligned with mankind being a part of nature, not above or below it.
It is a path that stresses taking charge of your own life, the good and the bad. It is a path that does not sugar coat death with pie in the sky rewards for being good, endless torment for being bad, or is it just the vision of a cold dead body rotting in the ground.

I am a Wiccan because it has allowed me to realize my full potential is within my grasp.

Wicca has great appeal to kids who want to annoy their Christian parents.

I am Wiccan because that is my choice. Just as your faith is your choice.

What is the fascination with Christianity? It is just paganism in disguise.

IMy path is Wicca, it is a peaceful religion with beautiful rituals and theology. It teaches personal responsibility and teaches us to treat others as we would want to be treated.

I could reply glibly as Philosoph... did with a, "What's your fascination with Jesus," but instead, I will give you my considered opinion.

Simply put, I first came to Wicca because none of the other religions I'd read about and studied had a significant place set at the table for women. All, to one degree or another, were male dominated and ghettoized women as "chattel." As I knew at my core that both genders are equal and of vital importance for the continuation of our species, this attitude seemed far less than holy. Far less than what was obviously divinely inspired and played out daily on our planet.

Since that time, I've grown in a fuller and more complete understanding of this spiritual path which is based in the ancient pagan religions. We often refer to this as the Old Religion. It is highly respectful of both genders and unlike the male dominated religions which preach dominion over women and all other life on our glorious planet, Wicca is in sync with the earth and honors it.

In terms of Wicca's growth since the British Witchcraft Act was repealed in 1951, I believe both men and women have come to it because they long for what was lost from the religions springing from the Abrahamic texts. The Feminine Divine.
