Default Isn't Wicca a better religion than Christianity?

Isn't their moral and ethical codes much more accepting and require more maturity and personal responsibility than just blaming mistakes on 'the Devil' like Christians do

It is a much better religion. One that puts that responsibility of your actions back on you instead of blaming something or someone else. This is a great question by the way. I wish everybody saw things the way you do.

Wicca is a lovely religion but i wouldn't say better , it is better for the individual of course but every one needs something different and something that makes sense to them

your first mistake is asking what type of religion you should be because if you really believe in something you shouldn't have to ask if that is what you should follow, and this part is just my personal opinion I dint believe it is better than Christianity

Religions don't cause problems. The people who use a religion to support their prejudice are the problems.

If you prefer Wicca, then go for it. But stop generalizing all Christians. Some of us actually take responsibility for our mistakes.

Not better, only different.

For many having things laid out in black and white (written in a book) is a more convenient way of canonizing a belief. While it can lead to some problems I don't think it is anymore problematic then leaving moral choices to ones own moral compass. A lot of folks have a pretty screwed up moral compass (defending pedophilia for instance).

Moreover while some Christians blame the Devil for their mistakes there are a significant number who do try to take their moral responsibilities seriously.

I guess what I'm saying is that there are both Christians and Witches that are cool to hang around and there are those that are really not cool. I try to avoid the ones that are a pain in the ( | ).

One is not superior to the other. They are different paths.

Blessed Be

Pabs

Wicca does not give place unto God. The creator of heaven and Earth. Wicca worships gods and goddesses of all types. The neophilia who Christians have been warned not to worship.
I would never say these gods and goddesses do not exist as the bible states they have been imprisoned on the earth to await the judgment.
I would not suggest worshiping them knowing God said not to.

I might not be Christian. But, to my understand there is something called 'free-will'. God gave that to all humans. So, I don't think it's just the devil that would be causing humans to sin. I think it would also be humans fault when they screwed up. Or am I missing something? I thought the whole point of repenting was saying "I did <something> wrong, forgive me." NOT "The devil made me do it!"

Well they both have their faults. Christians blame things on the "devil" but Pagans blame things on what Karma? Gnomes? Trolls? Goblins? DOnt laugh Ive heard all this b4! I love that Pagans (vicunas) are open to exploring other religions to incorporate into there spiritual path, something Christians Just dint and never will. BUt I know alto of Pagan (vicunas) that are way out their. Especially around Beltain festivals where they dress up as fairies and chase each other around may poles!
And for those of you who say Wiccans dint ive honor or homage to GOd the Creator your all full of ISH! Though they come accross polytheistic they are in a manner monotheostic. They beleive in a higher power. That higher power has two main aspects Male (God) and Female (goddess)! The father is Intellectual the mother is Intuitive! Then they brek those aspects down into and behing other dieties names. For instance Apollo who is about action almost with out thought, very war like. Where as Aphrodite is a sensual giving aspect of the Goddess! ALl the different aspects of the same masculine and/or feminine energy of our Creator (higher power)

Christianity is a "better" religion, by every definition of "better" that I know.

Christianity requires people to be responsible for their actions; not knowing everything about Wicca, this may be a tie. Christians can blame the devil for temptation, but they are responsible for giving in to that temptation.

Christianity gives people a means to be forgiven of their sins; Wicca may have some way around that for now, but the difference will be clear in the end.

I've known many Wiccans who were nice people and fun to be around, but I hope they all turn around before it's too late.

Wicca is not evil. It has nothing to do with the devil and such. So many misinformed people! It is the worship of the earth, the seasons, the life--------all G-d given. It is far better than Christianity that says G-d came to earth in human form. My G-d would never do that!

I'm a Wiccan, but I don't believe that any one religion can be "better" than any others. To think that is not a Wiccan attitude.

Morality and values are relative to the person same as religion, Therefore, who are we to say that what we believe is better than what others believe. Its all relative. If Christianity makes some people happy, that's great.

What Wiccans have against Christians is that many do not pay us the same courtesy. They constantly meddle and try to convert us. They tell us that our religion is EVIl and Wrong. They try to close down our temples and covens. And sometimes incite violence to stop us. That is the bad side of Christianity.

But there is a bad side to Wicca too. There are some people who call themselves Wiccans who don't follow the Wiccan Rede and meddle with the free will of others or do magi ck with the intent to harm. Or those people who judge others too harshly and work to separate Wiccans from the rest of society.

The thing that worries me about Wicca is that the old gods could be pretty petty. Seems like playing with fire.

That said, I mostly agree with your assessment of the Rede vs. the lists of Judeo-Christian Sharl's and shalt nit's. But I'll give you one better: why not accept that morality isn't quite real -- it's useful in a pinch, but it had no basis in objective reality and is really about judging ourselves and others rather than accepting everything unconditionally.

I think morality should be simple: I don't want to hurt others, because God, our spiritual Source, doesn't want to. If I stay connected to this Source, I will want It wants.
