Default Wicca Tradition?

I got new neighbors and for the way the dressed I think they are Wicca (nothing wrong with that of course) my question is as soon as they move they put a piece of wood on the door (like from a tree or something) wrap in plastic, does anybody know what that does it mean? Or what is for?
wow everybody got so touchy about the dressing remark. They wear a lot of black clothes and pieces of jewelry with 5 point stars and zodiac signs, but you guys are right is ignorant of me to assume they were "something" without asking before.

How do they dress to make you think they are Wicca?

I don't know exactly what it is, but in most cases it's a home protection thing, nothing more. Don't worry about it.

As a Wiccan, I can honestly say that I've never heard of that particular tradition. It could just be for decoration, you know. :-) Wiccans like their houses to look attractive as much as anyone else does.

Umm... I dress differently? last I looked, I wore regular old jeans, shirts, a suit for work, and dressy pants/shirt or a dress for special occasions.

If they dress differently then they probably aren't Wiccan. We don't dress any different from anyone else except on ritual occasions, and even then wears robes is rare.

As for the symbol.... what does it look like? It could be almost anything under the sun.

Not I don't but would just like to point out that all wood comes from trees.

I'm a bit confused as to the details.
Where on the door? how big is the piece of wood.. are you saying that they wrapped it in plastic before putting it on the door or they unwrapped it?

I ask because they may not be Wicca. There's another religious faith that puts something on the doorway. I'd like more explanation please. Thanks!

You should cast it away and invoke the power of Jesus to rebuke Satan . Wicca is spawned by Lucifer to distract you from the light which all should be trying to attain. Stay away from these people.

I am not Wiccan, but how do you think a Wiccan (or a witch)dresses? I am usually in jeans (or shorts) and a T-shirt with moccasins of sandals! I think the only time they (or I) might dress differently, or look more the part would be for a ceremony or ritual. and those are not generally public displays! I might be arrested as I prefer sky clad!
Wood on the door makes a nice decoration, especially driftwood! It means nothing!
