Default Why did you choose Wicca?

Did you choose to follow Wicca because of it's focus on women instead of men or were you raised in some type of Christian church and wanted something that was more real and could apply to everyday life easier?

(sorry if I have worded this incorrectly, just curious how you came to follow the Wiccan path)

I'm not exactly Wiccan anymore. I embrace all religions. I would say the the thing that drew me to Wicca originally was the Wiccan Rede: "An it harm none, do what ye will." This has always been very close to what my personal moral views are.

I am no longer Wiccan, but did practice it for several years. I chose it because it focuses on women, in my opinion, just as much as men. I liked the idea of nature worship, and the holidays and traditions. They were very fun and a great way to celebrate life. I stopped practicing because I really didn't believe in god/goddess. I am an agnostic now, but I still observe some of the Pagan traditions, just as a way to remember the dead, be grateful for the earth, etc.

Edited to add-just like c_jennet, I always loved that creed as well. I still base my life on it.

I chose to become a witch (or Wicca with a small w) because of its focus on nature rather than humans.

i chose it because it really focuses on nature and the energies it gives off. its very sublime a peaceful to me. ever since i began practicing Wicca Ive felt more positive, white, energies in me. I'm actually a follower of the Greek pantheon. Wicca is just a more natural, energizing way of life.
