Wicca is a very comfortable religion. There are many variations, and basically no rules as long as one vehemently denies the deity of Jesus Christ. I have always like Wicca, it is kind of back to the beginning sort of religion. It is kind of like Outback Steakhouse, no rules just right. The one downfall is that it has no relation to the truth.
Most practitioners will acknowledge that Wicca as a recognizable faith is about 60 years-old. The Noe-Druidic faiths popped up around the mid-1700s. In both cases, the leaders of either movement claimed to be bringing back some ancient religions. In fact there no scripts or records of how Pagans Worshipped.
I won't go into the Con Artists who made them up. However you should.
I like the fact that Wicca is a nature based religion. I also like one of their rules, "Harm none."
I like that it teaches people that there is more to Deity than just one huge masculine side. That there is a balance of feminine and masculine. Male and female deities. A Mother and a Father.
It is a more hands on spirituality than others. There is a saying ' perfect love and perfect trust" Its not based on threats, torture or coercion. One hon ours what is seen and touched in front of you IE mother earth, nature and all its beauty. It respect others and their choices and does not attack or demean an others spiritual choice.
