Islam solves racism? Fat chance. See the entirely racist subjugation of southern Sudanese people by northern (Muslim!) Sudanese people.
Why is it so hard for you NOT to ask an entirely vapid question?
Clearly, the purpose of Wicca is the same purpose as Islam, which is to provide a set of morals for guidance in order to please the Divine and live correctly in accordance with Its Will.
EDIT: @ Anthony: You clearly think Wicca is useless, but believe me, there are plenty of people who think the same thing about Christianity. Simply because you BOTH are prejudiced about other religions (above about non-Muslim religions, below about non-Christian religions) does NOT make you any more or less "right" about your own silly beliefs.
EDIT 2: And I'm not Wiccan. It just irritates me when people ask ridiculous questions.
what is your point? if you have all of the answers to your liking, why are you asking anyone anything?
Wicca can give what you want of it through imagination and playfulness of rituals and chants. Wicca cannot give eternal life. It is not hard to explain something that is without real substance, it is what it is, and if it be spiritually dead that makes eternal life through Christ Jesus, then there is no salvation in it and it will manifest and define itself to the user eventually.
Islam has a dangerous and deadly set of laws, it also has a spiritually dead rhetoric that is based on the word of a man without credibility or prudence in His practices of daily life. It is also a deadly way to live if you be extremist. it does not purvey any peace and what peace it does with the few peaceful who practice peacefully, you find in the rare quota. Racism resides within it's own religion.
EDIT For Asker: You asked my opinion, and I told you, I have nothing against those who practice Wicca, but truth is what I told you and you can accept it or not. If you are not seeking truth or unable to digest it, don't ask your question. Believe what you believe and that is fine with me. I have no problems with your beliefs, but I do understand that all cannot take truth, still It is my responsibility to give you truth, need I post the scriptures to support my answer for you? Just say. Wicca and any forms of magic or substitutes for worship ping God is playing with strange fire, and romancing familiar spirits, these are things of the spiritually dead.
The prejudice is on your part, dear heart, just look at the essence of your post.
EDIT: For AONGHAS: your own answer speaks not much different than mine, so, the pot calling the kettle black?
Because I do not believe or believe a way about a system of beliefs, does not make me prejudiced about a people, it makes me finding lack of truth and knowledge in comparison to my own personal beliefs, experiences and the word of God and that is all. I do not have or need to defend prejudice, having gone through it all my life and knowing well enough to be wise enough not to oppress people with stupid and ignorant beliefs within myself about a people like you or the ASKER did OF WHOM YOU RIDICULED.
Yes, wicca is useless to me, and christianity is useless to many, but, that does not make them hating of me because of what I believe, nor does it make me hating or predjudiced against you , them or the asker, Common sense and Christian love does that. Right or wrong, It is truth in my opinion like you say what you think in truth of what your opinion is, only I can base my answer on scripture and the ASKER can decide if that is right or wrong for them, that is their freewill and yours too.
I do respect the freewill of all men.
Never had I said any of it was silly, you said that. that reflects your thoughts, not truth, It is just not what I believe. Check, not wreck. Your Go.
EDIT FOR ASKER: Let it Go already, I am black and I do not care about who is a black or white, muslim, christian, buddhist, JW, Atheist, Jew, Agnostic, Pantheist, Cantheist, Colors mean nothing, races mean nothing, it is the heart of a man that matters.
EDIT FOR BOTH: What do you know of me? if I had ever been in occult things, wicca, masonry or anything before I had the light and truth of God. Hey I won't whistle dixie, I will lay it on the line for you from my perspective and experience.
It is difficult to explain for a simple reason: Wicca is an initiatory mystery religion. Much like a "you had to be there" joke, the subtle intricacies of the Craft are nearly impossible to satisfactorily explain to someone who has never experienced it.
It is difficult to explain the purpose of Wicca because Wicca is something that is personal to each practitioner, witch, etc. Wicca is not like Christianity in the aspect that Wicca are not required to live by the exact same set of rules to every person. They have a simple easy oath. And harm ye none do what ye will.
Every minute of a Christians life is altered by a different set of rules, sometime that even contradict each other. You will get many different answers from Christians, to the same question.. But from a group of vicunas you will get one answer: Harm ye none do what ye will.
People can not fathom such freedom in religion so it is difficult to explain it.
All of your "etc. etc." shows that you can't explain the purpose of Islam very well, kiddo...
And heck, we probably would've accepted "Submission to God" which is a 3-word answer with a basis in Islamic etymology...the definition of a Muslim.
Wicca does the SAME THING AS EVERY OTHER RELIGION: It provides one set of mores for interaction with people ( http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/mores ) and interaction with the divine.
Um, that whole "give mercy to mankind stuff"? That's what a set of mores is, dude.
Just because YOU fail at explaining your religion doesn't mean other people fail at explaining theirs....frankly, I don't think I could reduce it into terms child-like enough for you to get it. How is this: The purpose of Wicca, in childlike terms:
To do good because it's the right thing to do, not because someone tells you to do it.
To do good because you want to, not because anyone tells you to.
To be able to figure out the right thing to do because you can tell hurtful things from harmless things without lists or books.
To realize there is more in the universe than just you, and act accordingly.
To be free to walk with your gods out of mutual respect for each other.
To be free to let others do harmless things as they will because it's their right.
That's a start...no ET ceders needed, and still summed up as a set of mores and a connection with the divine.
