Default How do you close a circle in Wicca?

I am in the middle of writing my self dedication ritual for a year and a day. I need help though. How do you close a circle? Also how do you release/thank the god and goddess? Also how do you thank/release the elements? If you could please give me it in order or in steps from first to last of closing it it would be very helpful. Thanks. No negative comments please (:
I am writing a ritual that is dedicating me FOR a year an a day, NOT for after .

Lol... you're a Wicca. My favorite Bill Maher quote is when he talks about Wicca and Scientology. He says that by the time Wicca got to the "Crazy trough" all the good crazy was taken.

Farewell to deities (just a simple thank you and goodbye)
Banishing of elements, using reversed process of opening. go ogle "invoking pentagrams" and "banishing pentagrams" for pattern. Use Earth at all four directions if beginning. (also saying appropriate words, but bidding them to return to where they came from)
Put Athene into receptive hand and pull the circle back in, in a reverse of how you cast it.

You're reading Ray Buckland, aren't you?

I'm not sure as I am not Wiccan. However, this website probably has the information you're looking for.

If you are starting your year and a day then you should be researching, finding the information you need. If you're writing a dedication ritual because you're finishing your year and a day then you should already know this.

Basically what you are asking is for your work, your study, to be done for you. Go to the library, research on the Internet, or buy some books so you can learn what you need to know.

EDIT: so you should be researching and finding the ritual that fits what you want to do. I called that declaring myself a seeker. I was seeking knowledge, finding out what Paganism was all about. When I was ready then I did a self dedication ritual. Because I had been doing the research I found a dedication ritual that was perfect for me. This is what you should be doing. It makes your ritual personal, shows you have purpose, that you are willing to work and learn, not take the easy way.

I had the same trouble, I'm still within my year and day and am still learning more.
I usually have a candle lit for each element, and i go round while i am closing my circle and once i get to a candle i will say something like
"i thank you element of air, the breeze, the wind, the breathe for protecting my circle and being at my mist. merry meet and merry part"
Thats an example.
For God and the Goddesses, i am still stuck on that CD for now i just say
"the goddess within me shall never leave me, i thank you and i release you, merry meet and merry part"
Although I've been studding it for a year and a half, its still not easy for me.
Blessed be )0( x

You close the circle exactly the opposite of how you opened it. All you have to say to thank the god and goddess is "thank you" in whatever fancy form you wish.

this might help.
