I've currentley been studying Wicca for 2 weeks. Is that enough? i'm asking this agai
The reason I'm asking it again is more than half of my answerer's answered: Believe in Jesus Don't do that Oooooh!! I'm sorry a**wipes too bad.
Oh my f*******... you know what... SCREW YOU ALL
Yes. The next step is to make sure you are truly a witch or not. bind your arms and legs and cast yourself into a river. If you fly out of the river, then you are a witch. if you drown, well looks like you should have studied longer.
Many branches of Paganism specify a year and a day as an absolute minimum requirement for study time. I know some Wiccans who observe the year and a day formula, although not all do. And two weeks is not long enough to study anything.
What is your definition of "enough"? Enough to see if you're interested? Enough to be a knowledgeable practitioner? Enough to write a report on it? Religious study is a lifelong thing for religious people, there isn't any "enough".
Enough for what?
What are you expecting Wicca to do for you?
Everything sounds cute and witch and cool and fun until you stand before God in the day of judgment. Then, the game is over and a very real and terrifying irreversible verdict is handed down.
Calm down. Ignore the a**wipes. The less you let them get to you, and the more you are able to deal with your temper and emotions in a healthy way, the more able to deal with the knowledge, wisdom and peace that Wicca can teach you.
Two weeks isn't much, in the great scheme of things. Traditionally, neophytes don't dedicate, initiate or claim to be Wiccan until they've studies for a year and a day. In traditional circles, you would need to start studying with a coven and they would initiate you (if you are found ready) after the year and a day of study. People who choose not to go the traditional route also still tend to follow a year and a day of study, but this is looser and doesn't end with initiation, just a self-dedication of some type.
There are reasons for this that will become clearer the more you study.
Initiation/dedication/conversion is a process, not a singular event. Tt takes time for that process to happen and when it happens, you will know inside that it has happened... any ritual or ceremony you do after that to mark yourself as a Wiccan will only be a formal show of the transition that has occurred already inside.
You'll feel it.
Best of luck,
-Scarlet
A year and a day of straight studying is generally how it goes.
I know you dint like the smart as$ answers, but being a dick in return isn't going to help. If you don't like it, then ignore it.
Anyway, seriously though I've been Wiccan for 13 years, and I'm still learning new things everyday. Study, study, study. 2 weeks is like barely even scratching the surface. Not even that...it's like sniffing the surface. I'd recommend a year and a day of just studying before you go further.
every one who actually answered the question did a pretty good job (i answered your last one) dent worry about the assholes they are ever present.
Second: it does take time but if the word Wicca resonates with your soul then go 4 it just be prepared to deal with a couple of Wicca assholes who will look down their nose because your new
and say we are all students in the great school of life or something like that Lil
it ll make you sound wise.
My best friend told me about Wicca and once he told me the beliefs I started crying because i knew it was what I was. If you strongly believe the Wiccan beliefs and laws then by all means you are Wiccan. However if you are just in it for magic I must chastise you. If you are truly interested I would suggest the book Wicca for One by Raymond Buckland.
How old are you, 12? Yes, you got some Jesus-freak answers, so? Ignore them. You ALSO got several on-topic answers. It just so happens they all told you that your attitude about Wicca study was seriously skewed and needed seriously rethought. Are you going to continue asking these question until someone pats you on the head and tells you what you want to hear?
Wicca is a religion based on knowledge and parchments and if you believe that you are done after two weeks you are greatly mistaken. i spent two year studying before i did my dedication ceremony and i still contour to learn. knowledge is power and you have to spend a long time reaching and finding exactly what it is that you believe. no two vicunas believe exactly the same thing. do you know why this is? it is because they did research not only about Wicca but took in knowledge from all sorts of places before figuring out what they personally believed. as if you are inters ted and believe in wicca great but you need to remember there is ALWAYS more to learn. learn about diffrent views diffrent religions see what you believe and what you don't. and also you should know that the negitive energy you are sending out with your getting mad at people will come back at you. it also shows immituirity.
no wiccan who has done the nessisary work to build relationships with the gods and goddesses and eliments to gain all the knowledge that they have found can take you seriously right now.
