I looked it up, and it said it is a synergism of Christianity and Wicca which uses the organizational and festival framework of Wicca while professing belief in the teachings of Jesus.
I guess it could be like Gnostic Christianity, and sort of a mix of two completely different ideas... or Sikhism... but it doesn't seem like it would work for me.
Many argue one cannot truly be two religions. You're either Christian or Wiccan or perhaps neither. Also Wicca isn't even recognized as a religion worldwide, certainly not in the UK, where it started. Also Wiccans, and those claiming to be 'witches' are in direct conflict with Christian teaching about witches and the practise of magic anyway.
Now, is it a religion that makes any sense? Is it a religion worth following? Is it a religion that is respectful to the religions it is said to stem from?
Those are altogether different questions, especially since there already are Christian festivals corresponding to most Wiccan holidays.
From my point of view, it is like wanting to have your cake and eat it. Far be it from me to say that Antone's religious beliefs are not really a religion (after all, I don't like it much when people say that about my religion).
But I will say that I have never yet seen an explanation of how the Christian doctrine of salvation from sin and everlasting hellfire can be reconciled with Wiccan unbelief in the sinful nature of man and the judge mental nature of God. And I have never yet seen a Christian admit that God may well be a woman or a Wiccan admit that God may be a misogynist. I look forward to seeing how this synergism may be accomplished within the framework of such diametrical contradictions.
But I would not say that Christo-Wicca is not really a religion.
Yes, there are a few people that actually do try to merge Christianity with Wicca. Since in Wicca they let observe and work with any deity you want this does not go against that religion. However, in Christianity there are a lot of things about Wicca that they do not agree with. The simply fact that Wicca is a polytheistic religion totally goes against Christianity in itself. Often times in Christianity they portray any other religion outside of their own as false or evil. Christians would view the merging of Wicca with Christianity as sacrilegious. Therefore in the eyes of Christians, anyone who tries to merge Christianity with another religion is not a true Christian and is secretly in contact with Satan. But, like I said in the beginning, there are people who try to merge the two together and call themselves Christian Wiccans.
I'm sorry, i completely understand why there is such interest in doing this -- But those who try to mix Wicca and Christianity are mostly young or naive folks who don't really know much about the doctrines, principles or practices of either religion.
The principles and practices of Wicca and Christianity are diamentrically opposed to each other -- The absolute basis for Chrisitanity is the idea that human beings sin, and therefore require a "Savior" to "redeem" them to God;
While there is no concept of 'sin" in Wicca, and therefore no need for any "Savior".
These so-called "Christian-Wiccans" have to wind up mutating both religions, to try to force them into compatibiility -- and they wind up creating versions of Wicca and Christianity that are no longer true, accurate representations of *either* religion.
What *is* possible to do, however, is to create a version of Christianity and PAGANISM -- Since Paganism is not an actual religion and has no particular principles, practices or beliefs, it is possible to somehow mix or combine various elements of Paganism with Christianity.
Also -- There are also various kinds of Christianity that are more amenable to such creativity: for exmaple, Gnostic or Mystical Christianity --

A Christian is someone striving to be like Christ. How can this be related to someone practicing a pagan religion that Satan loves to see? http://www.wiccawitchcraft.net
You've already got some really good answers from other people, but I would like to point out that Christianity specifically says you may not be involved with anything to do with witches, witchcraft, divination, worshiping nature etc. How does it even make sense to put the two together?!
Those who attempt to put two apposing forces together probably aren't doing so from a very educated position and thus are equally despised and laughed at by the two different groups. Everyone has the freedom to believe what they want, but that doesn't always mean it's sensible or logical. They're offending Christians with their "blasphemy" and Wiccans just hate being related to something that is so completely nuts.
Imagine someone claiming to be Muslim Satanic Wiccan..... someone could theoretically do this, but why would they want to?
It's a contradictory belief system created by those who just cannot let go of their Christian beliefs. Sooner or later those practicing "Christo-Wicca" will choose one over the other because they'll eventually realize that they cannot successfully combine the two belief systems.
