Default Help with Wicca/Pagan religion.?

hello people, I am a catholic, but never attend church, so i don't even know if a catholic anymore cause i really don't agree with the ideas or laws. so am really interested in the Pagan religion, i know that the gods or goddesses needs to chose you, and by that i need to cast a circle and all that. But am afraid cause i don't know how to, is the any way to still pray to different goddesses that i choose without casting and circle or spells? Am I right about what am talking about?

Google the names of gods and goddesses. Pick one or many.

then either pray to them or invoke them somehow.

Yes. The Wiccan religion is very open to anything and has only one law. "An ye harm none, do as ye will." Think about that.
Pagan simply means "not christian". Think on that.
Blessed Be!

P.S.-I worship Ubasti and Isis mainly.

I think you are a bit confused about everything. You need to do a lot of research about Wicca and Paganism (not always one in the same) and all the different types there are out there. There are several books by reputable authors out there that will help you in this tremendously. And remember, you cannot become Pagan or Wiccan overnight, it takes a lot of dedication and study.

A good website to look at books is Llewellyn.com Its a great place to start.

I'm a pagan, but not a Wiccan. I've found this to be a good reference for some things though:

You can pray without a spell or a circle. Research deities, pick a few you feel connected to, and start praying.

Paganism isn't a religion on it's own, it's an umbrella term for multiple polytheistic religions. Rules, rituals, pantheons, and beliefs differ from group to group, but many are very flexible. You sound like you're referring to Wicca, but here's some links that will give you the basics in different pagan paths; these links will also link you to many other interesting sites. Wikipedia actually has some good info but check out multiple sites, books, etc, because no one source will tell you everything.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paganism
http://paganwiccan.about.com/
http://www.spiralgoddess.com/Pagan101.html - Simple page, but helpful
http://www.allaboutspirituality.org/paganism.htm
http://www.religioustolerance.org/paganism.htm - This website has some VERY good, non-biased info
http://wicca.timerift.net/ - If it's Wicca you're into, this is a very informative site, take your time with this one!

Good luck in your search, but don't rush yourself.
Message if you'd like to. ^_^

First, think long and hard about your relationship with Christianity. Growing up and having some new opinions doesn't necessarily mean that you have to throw off your religion and join a new one. Maybe there's a way for you to have a relationship with your god that isn't strictly Catholic.

Second step, research some religions aside from Wicca. There are lots of other pagan religions out there as well as some larger and more easily accessible ones. However, there's certainly nothing wrong with starting such a search by focusing on, say, Wicca and sticking with it (possibly forever, possibly until you are exposed to something more specifically representative of your beliefs). That's the most important thing: don't squish your beliefs into a label just so you can have one. Find a religion that fits the beliefs you already have.

Third, check out the following resources. Don't cast any circles, buy any tools or worry about gods and goddesses until you've at least been through the website. It's better if you've read some of the books, though:

http://wicca.timerift.net - read it in its entirety, then check out the reading list where you will find:

- Wicca & Living Wicca (Scott Cunningham)
- Elements of Ritual (Deborah Lipp)
- Wicca for Beginners (Thea Sabin)

Good luck

you can choose a god or goddess if none have made contact with you, and you don't have to cast a circle to do anything. I'd suggest you do a lot of reading before you start just poking around blindly. if you inadvertently offend a god, then you're chances of making up are limited and you've wasted an opportunity.

the complete idiot's guide to paganism is an easy to read and concise overview of modern paganism and a good starting point. if you have specific gods in mind, go ogle them and read up on them. make offerings appropriate to patronages and just talk to them. you don't need any of the nonsensical rigmarole to communicate with them, you don't need tools or candles or special garments or other people's ideas. they want to hear from you, not silver raven wolf.

Well, if you are asking if you can pray to the god's and goddesses. yes. I don't know if you should cut out the rest of it in favor of doing only prayers though. I don't. I think it should be a nice balance of prayer and ritual. Besides you can also meditate. ha ha I was visiting a website ,Daven's Journel, and I saw a quote of his. "Prayer is when you talk to the gods, meditation is when you Listen to them." I don't Know if these sites will help that problem but they might explain Wicca Little more.

Wicca:for the rest of us
Daven's Journel
WitchVox
Wicca Together
there are more but those are good to start of with. I also recommend reading some books and talking to people. with Wicca together you can actually talk to other members of the site. I recommend that more than asking it on Y!A because people don't always give good answers.
