Default What is a good website for wicca spells that are free and work?

I am looking for actually a couple of websites that are good, but in particular one for spells that work, for a website that can give me more information (that I can learn) about Wicca and maybe even a good website to purchase supplies. Thanks.

The best spells are ones you do yourself. That said, try here: http://www.witchvox.com
This is a comprehensive website that will probably have either links or articles for everything you need.

There are lots of web sites with "Free" Wicca spells.
There are no websites with spells that *work,* free or otherwise.
Sorry, but that's how it is.

Peace.

Any spell will work if you try hard enough. And by try I mean putting all of your energy and focus into it, with good intention of course. The best spells are the ones you write yourself because you can make them as specific as you want.
But some good sites are
WNW.everythingunderthemoon.net/
WNW.spellsthatwork.com/
WNW.spells-witchcraft.org/
and WNW.spelwerx.com/wiccan-spells.html
I just use those as references and ideas when I write my spells. Good luck (:

Spells have nothing to do with Wicca.

You can learn about Wicca here - http://wiccalessons.wordpress.com/ - and you'll also find some very simple practical exercises that will prepare you for energy and magical work.

However, I think you will find that the Wiccan approach to witchcraft is possibly not what you are expecting. Using magi ck, and spells in general, is considered a last resort in most cases and it is more likely to be done in connection with self improvement. Further to this, spells are created by individuals for a specific purpose.

The idea of a doctrine of Wiccan spells is just a misconception by those who have been influenced by TV and Movies. If you see a book on spells being sold then it's just someone cashing in on it. The spells you find for free on websites aren't worth your time to be quite honest. Spells and magi ck are not only practiced by Wiccans - they are done by anyone who is a Witch.

The best approach would be to learn how to create your own spells and understand the basic of theory of how and why spells work. You could try reading a book called "Spells and How They Work" by Janet & Stewart Farrar.

Just remember - Be careful what you wish for as you might just get it.

There's no such thing as "Wicca spells".

Wicca is a religion. You can learn more about it here:
http://wicca.timerift.net/

Witchcraft is a practice, a set of skills (not religion specific and not a religion in and of itself). This practice takes years of study and training to learn and become adept at. The bottom line here is that if you don't know HOW to work a spell, no spell is likely to work for you.

The only supplies you absolutely need for casting spells do not come from a store. They come from within you. Do you know what the "main ingredients" are to an effective spell? The driving force behind making a spell work? If not, then you are not ready to dabble with spells, you could accidentally harm yourself or someone else.

If you truly wish to learn witchcraft, then expect a year or so of study and psychic development before you're even ready to try casting your first spell. For goodness sake, you don't even say what kind of spell you need - for what purpose. Just "spells that are free and work". Oh, so how about the spell that I created to help my friend find the right job. You want to help my friend find that job? Too late, he already has - this spell is no longer needed. Or the spell I created to help cure *my* insomnia. Works great? You want to help me sleep when I'm having a bout of insomnia? Is that really what you're after here? I doubt it.

You have a lot to learn dear. Start at the beginning and learn properly.

Here's a beginner book recommendation:

Wicca is not primarily about "spellcasting" -- It's a RELIGION -- a *Spiritual Path*.

Spells should be constructed by those intending to use them, because that makes them much more effective. And it's relatively EASY to construct a spell -- IF you have had any sort of good training in magick. If not, you should concentrate on GETTING that training/ instruction, rather than collecting spells from other people. Trying to do magick without a good background and foundation in training, can lead to some very serious problems, and is NOT recommended by most experienced, mature magick-users.

Here are some good resosurces for good, reliable information on WICCA AS A RELIGION --

CoG - Covenant of the Goddess - http://www.cog.orgCoG is a national organization of (legally-recognizedWiccan "churches) -Wiccan covens, clergy and solitaries -- with local "councils" in many cities. CoG provides general, basic information, links to resources and other organizations, Groups, Covens, teachers, High Priest(ess)es, and much more.

2. Circle Sanctuary - http://www.circlesanctuary.orgCircle is a Pagan (not justWiccan) Sanctuary, working farm, and learning center. It offers training, workshops, festivals, networking, and sponsors other organizations

. 4. Witchvox - http://www.witchvox.com Witchvox is a wonderful resource that offers general, basic information, referrals and links to local and regional resources on Pagan Classes, Groups, Organizations, Merchants, and more.

5.Wicca For the Rest of Us - http://wicca.timerift.net/ - One of the better Pagan internet sites; lots of good information, articles, resources, links, networking, etc.

4. ?BeginningWicca? Yahoo Group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BeginningW? - One of the better Yahoo groups with several High Priests and Priestess members, so there are lots of good discussions and good information available in both the online discussions, and the Files section.

5. Religious Tolerance ? Pages onWicca: http://www.religioustolerance.org/witchc?

B. BOOKS:

1. Books And Authors To Avoid: -- AVOID anything by:

Silver Ravenwolf , Douglas Monroe's "21 Lessons of Merlin", Kisma Stepanich, Edain McCoy , or Mary Summer Rain

2. On Scott Cunningham: A word on Scott Cunningham and his books, "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" and "Living Wicca": -- It's crucial to realize that Scott was advocating a NEW Kind ofWicca -- Until his publications, Wicca was a Mystery, Initiatory, lineaged Path, whose deepest, most profound principles and practices were oath-bound and not available publically (they still are not, but most beginners don't realize that). Scott wrote his books for the many who were interested and he felt, deserved to have at least basic, essential information, even if they were not able to hope for finding a good teacher or Coven.
HOWEVER -- and again, this is crucial: (many of us feel that) Scott never intended that his book(s) should REPLACE Traditional Wicca, or that those who COULD find good Covens and teachers, would avoid or neglect doing so, in favor of this "Solitary" and non-initiatory Wicca. It's really beyond the scope of this brief essay to discuss in any depth, the many reasons why Wicca is best (and was meant to be) properly taught by experienced High Priests/ Priestesses, and learned and practiced in a Coven --

But anyone who *avoids* being well-trained by a good, experienced and well-trained High Priest/ess, or practicing within a Coven, does themselves a huge DIS-service; they are extremely unlikely to experience some of the most important, central, powerful and beautiful aspects of Wicca.

3 . Good Book Resources On Wicca:

a. Ellen Cannon Reed's "The Heart ofWicca" --
http://www.amazon.com/Heart-Wicca-Wise-W?
NOTE: This is the very first and major book i would recommend!

b. Starhawk's "The Spiral Dance",
c. Janet and Stewart Farrar's "The Witches Bible" -
d. Ray Buckland's "Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft" ?
e. Gerald Gardner's "Witchcraft Today" and "The Meaning of Witchcraft"

Of course there are many, many other good books, and new ones coming out all the time -- These are what might be considered "classics".

4. And finally, here are some articles on FInding Good Teachers:

There are plenty of websites with "witchcraft" spells. Keep in mind that WIcca is a religion. As for them working, its up to you. if you believe that it'll work, it'll work.

WNW.everythingunderthemoon.com has some pretty good spells. :3

No matter what site you go to, no matter what spell you do, it will only work as well as you do. By this I mean you have to put out the effort, you have to believe in it, and you have to follow your heart. Also, I would recommend making your own spells. It makes it more personal, and when you use other people's spells, they use certain words or phrases that have meaning to them, that may not to you.

In the source I listed a great site for research. I believe there is even an article on making your own spells. I love it.

You can buy supplies on eBay and Amazon for cheaper. I haven't bought anything but books on line, so I'm not sure of other sites. Also, be sure to purify and welcome whatever you buy.
