Hey, I'm a new Wicca and I was wondering if anyone had the names of any good books I
I have recently turned to Wicca and have tried looking for some good books but all I can find is stuff on love spells and how to gain wealth and crap! It's really annoying me so if someone would please tell me the name of some good Wicca books! (no crappy one please)
Guys, I don't wanna be one of those fluffy annoying ones, I'm not into the out there kind of thing that's why I'm looking for something more i dunno serious, i don't want books on spells and stuff i want books on the belief and the spirituality. I don't wanna be out there like the stereotype.
Also, Can i PLEASE not have any God RELIGIOUS people commenting here! Its my choice on what I believe in I dint go onto your pages and tell you your walking into hell, so leave me alone!
Once again, the disclaimer: I am not endorsing Wicca in any way, but if you want information from an authoritative source, then read the articles (especially Wicca 10) at http://www.timerift.net
It will help you to avoid being another annoying fluffy, a species all too common on this forum.
You are in Witchcraft and don't know it. Read the Bible. What shall it profit a man if he gains the Whole World and lose his Soul. You see if you own u-haul you still could not take it with you.
i think you should read some of the history of Wicca and not the re constructionist history bull crap about how its the old religions come back. that is a lie. but if you want to mix magi ck with spirituality i suggest getting books on non dogmatic magi ck (chaos magi ck, practical magi ck). a personal favorite of mine is "The Sorcerers Secrets" by Jason Miller. it cuts out all the dogma associated with pseudo-religions like Wicca and leaves you with the bare essentials to start with.
Awesome! Welcome
All the stuff by Scott Cunningham is pretty reliable - it's not fluffy at all. I recommend "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner." Not too long winded, but it has some history and also spell/ritual and dedication outlines, as well as things like the creation story and the Call of the Goddess . Steer clear of Silver Ravenwolf's stuff - she's widely regarded as a fluffy. I can't think of anything more right now, but there's quite a bit of stuff that you can locate by searches on Amazon and then find at local book stores.
Hope I helped
Blessings on your journey!
1)Ignore the fun dies saying you?ll go to hell and are opening yourself up to demons. They don?t believe in either.
2)Get the book: Wicca, a Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham (Amazon.com used books is a great resource)
3)Avoid Silver Ravenwolf, DJ Conway and most Llewellyn books
4)Do NOT pay for lessons over the Internet. You can?t ask for references. Do NOT give out personal information to anyone over the Internet. Get a PO Box.
5)WNW.witchvox.com http://wicca.timerift.net
6)Learn and keep learning about various paths in paganism.
7)get the book: "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margo Adler (an older book that's a little dated, especially concerning Asatru but a good resource) - it gives an overview on a lot of pagan traditions.
8)I?m not a good resource beyond these suggestions. I haven?t been a Wiccan since 1992 and I left Heathenism a year ago.
Some common pagan beliefs (not all pagan religions believe these): reincarnation * karma * harming none * multiple deities (male and female) * a reverence for life and nature * celebrating the cycle of life and the year with holidays and full moons *
Things pagans don?t believe in: the devil * hell * a savior * a deity that condemns someone for eternity for not believing in him
