I know there are some fiction books out there, and some cartoons, that teach that we all have an element, but that's not how Wicca works.

Really, really.

You don't have an element. You're not a Pokemon, you're not an "air bender," and you're not a mermaid...no matter what your friend says.... If you can't balance the elements within yourself you've no business using them in ritual, it's like trying to read a book with your eyes closed.

If you really feel out of balance, and like you have one element, there is a LOT of non-elemental ritual out there to chose from, even if it's not the fashion right now.

Edit: I know you might not believe this, but some videos are WRONG, and some people who make videos are clueless. Surprise! If you prefer, we can lie to you and play along with the game you're caught up in, or we can give you HELPFUL, HONEST answers that you apparently dislike.

Totally ditto on what Labgrrl said. We are not elements. These sorts of claims and questions have skyrocketed recently due to multiple *fictional* sources that really have nothing to do with Wicca. (In fact I don't think Wicca is even mentioned in these sources, yet they still get attributed to us for some reason)

Edit: There's a good chance that between Labgrrl and I we have more experience than your "high priestess" has in years of age. We know what we're talking about. And while no one should believe us just because we say something, "you must be wrong because a video on the Internet says otherwise" is an incredibly lame reason. Why are you so sure she knows what she speaks of and we don't?

Sorry, but we're not going to cater to this ridiculous fantasy depiction of Wicca based on fictional sources.

Also, Wicca is not "for the fun of it." It's a religion, and treating it as a fantasy game is offensive.

I was going to give you a pithy and brilliant answer to this. But Labgrrl and Nightwind got to it first.

I agree with LabGrrl and Nightwind. They've pretty much got it covered.

Thanks! ^-^
