Default I'm thinking about becoming a Wicca or Buddhist , but I wanna know more first.?

Hello! I am a person who wants to change my religion, can I do that? So Wicca and Buddhist both sound like religions that are great but which should I chose? I wanna be one or the other but I can't choose. Can you tell me what I need to know about either or both religions.

Neither Wicca or Buddhism are religions. No one can tell you what to believe. That is called indoctrination.

Lil um those are two totally different religions siesta!!! Its not about choosing one or the other that's not what religion is like at all!! I can't really speak for Wicca as much as I can Buddhism but anyways the idea is to not have a label, but to practice the ideas the religion encourages. I personally love Buddhism because its more of an idea or outlook on life opposed to a strict, tell what you can and can't do organized religion. Buddism is all about compassion which I am sure a lot of religions preach. It encourages you to feel your feelings, and try to feel more for the others around you which I value very much myself. If you want to explore Buddhism Mg you have to read some of ti ch Nat Hahn's books (a bud dist monk) I love him and he has written some of the most beautiful things I have read. This one is really good!! http://www.wildmind.org/blogs/book-reviews/true-love-thich-nhat-hanh

Wicca and Buddhism are very different religions with very different philosophies.

Wicca is focused on deity (God & Goddess); you are in service to your Gods.
Buddhism isn't, many Buddhists are atheists; Gods are irrelevant.

Wicca seeks to embrace our humanity and nature and find harmony and balance in all things;
Buddhism's goal is to transcend many human qualities and conflicts in order to break free from them.

Your best bet is to just do your research to understand them before you make any choices.

Then follow the religion that rings true to you.

Jenny - Technically Buddhist is more of a life choice and a spiritual practice/philosophy than an actual religion, since they have no personal deity.
Wicca a 'young' religion (being first started in the 1950's) that pretty much simply takes some of the Prue-Christian beliefs of the Celts and Norse (mostly) and modifies them into a fairly simplistic duality religion where there is a god and a goddess who are co-creators of the universe and who share in their continuing duties. All other gods and goddesses of all previous religions, and even those still practicing (such as Hindu, Hawaiian, etc.) are seen as aspects of the Dual Deity.
Study through research is the only way to find what really works for you. A question on a forum like this is Not going to give you that much.

I know the Buddhists have a Sacred Way etc. I would just go ogle Buddhist beliefs and go from there. Good luck on your search

Jenny,
I respect your sincerity, and if we could sit down and talk I suspect we would at least agree that each of us has a spiritual nature within us that yearns for something greater than ourselves. Centuries ago, a great philosopher called this a "God-shaped vacuum" we each have within us.

But where did this vacuum in our hearts come from? The Bible says that God put it there?and the reason He did was so that we would seek Him and come to know Him in a personal way. You and I have a soul that yearns for God; as the Bible says, God "has also set eternity in the hearts of men" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

But the Bible tells us something else very important. It tells us there is a barrier between us and God?a barrier we cannot overcome on our own. The reason is because this barrier that separates us from God was caused by our sin. Our greatest need is to have our sins forgiven, and this is something no amount of meditation or similar practice can overcome.

Only God can erase this barrier?and this is why Jesus Christ came into the world. He was God in human flesh, sent from heaven to save us from our sins. Don't be deceived by paths that promise to unite you with God but don't deal with your sins. Instead, by faith commit your life to Jesus Christ and trust Him alone for your salvation. Only then will you discover the joy and peace you are seeking.

Of course you can change your religion. You should always follow your heart and do what you feel is right for YOURSELF, never for others.

I am a Wiccan. I personally find comfort and peace in my beliefs. Everyone should find comfort in their religion. You have to do and believe what you are most comfortable.

Just make sure before entering any kind of religion that you know what you're getting yourself into. Know your history, talk to others who may practice a religion you are interested in, just do as much research as you can. Make sure you get the whole story before you throw yourself into something you aren't prepared for!

Feel free to email me if you have any more questions

Good luck!
Blessed Be
