Default I have questions concerning Wicca...?

I currently don't identify with any one religion, but have bits and pieces from many. However, I'm studying Wicca, and find it intriguing. Now, for the questions...
Is it true to use a spell, you must be Wiccan? And also, is it true your intent must be absolute? If so, what are the consequences otherwise?
Are there sub genres of Wicca, like some religions, and does it intersect with other religions?
How do schools react to Wicca in general? Do they get you in trouble if they see you reading a book on it?
Are Wiccans and Satanists really enemies?

Thanky you. Anything else you could tell me would be great.
I appreciate all the answers I have received and found them all very informative and respectful.

No, you don't have to be Wiccan to use spells. There are plenty of witches on other paths, including Christian mystics.

You should be sure of your intent. There's no way of telling what the consequences will be specifically... just that if your intent is to do harm, sooner or later it will come back on you

Yes, there are plenty of different paths within Wicca. Wicca is a broad term that covers many different sects - Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Dianic, Celtic, Fairy, etc.... They all touch on different religious concepts.

Depends on the school and the teachers. Some dint' care, some fly off the handle about it...

No, as far as I know Wiccans and Satanists are not enemies. Wiccans are just tired of Christians calling them Satanists.

any one can make spells, not just Wicca people. but you relay do have to be live in the spell and concentrate on it for it to work, but if you dint nothing bad or negative will happen it just wont work. yes Wicca does go in to other religions, Wicca is a very new religion and it goes off some pagan and Norse beliefs. but alto is from your own mind its not a strait religion, like if you dont like one part of somthing nothing says you have to do it. i always bring wiccan/pagan books to school i also wear my pentagram too, none of the teachers have said anything to me, but people give me dirty looks alto, but ya know you just shrug it off. and finaly no wiccans and satanists are not enemies we have difrant belifes but thats no reason to hate! ^_^

if you like wicca check out paganism if you havent i think its super cool!
*sorry if i spelled stuff wrong *

You have found really bad sources...

Wicca is a religion... it is about God & Goddess and how you live your life. The religion was founded about 70 years ago; it is based on older beliefs, but it is a modern religion.

Witchcraft is an ancient practice; you can be any religion, it's been part of just about every culture throughout history. It's been around a lot longer than Wicca; Wiccans don't own Witchcraft.

You do not have to be Wiccan to practice Witchcraft. Practicing Witchcraft does not make you Wiccan.

How a school or person reacts to Wicca depends on the school or person.

Wiccans and Satanists are not necessarily friends or enemies. They are two different groups of people who happen to practice different religions. There are no us-against-them wars going on, if people don't like one or the other that's their business.

Wiccans do not see the world as a big battle between good and evil. Other people have different beliefs; we can accept this, even if we don't always agree with the beliefs...

Spells-- are not anything like fiction; intent must be clear, or why bother? There are no "consequences" in the form of some kind of punishment by a God... magic is neutral, it is a tool, but obviously a knife is a tool, too but if you drop it you can hurt yourself accidentally. Same thing with magic.

Magic is not a short cut or instant gratification, it takes years of intense study and mental discipline to become adept. It is rooted in nature and psychology there is no hocks-pocus about real magic. There is a lot more to it than just muttering words and acting out some spell like a script.

If you are interested in learning about Wicca or Witchcraft I suggest you keep reading.

I think I'll try and number the answers. It might make more sense that way. Here goes.
1) no. Spells are often considered witchcraft. Not all vicunas are witches, and not all witches are vicunas.
2) don't know. Personally, I think a spell is more like a prayer.
3) I believe so. Like if you cast a spell on someone else which goes against their will, it will likely come back on you
4) there are a few certain types of Wicca, such as garnering Wicca, but most of us are eclectic.
5) most of us get on fine with people of other religions, as long as they don't bother us about it. Our Reed tells us "live you must and let to live" so we must let others live in their own way. My main group of friends is made up of 3 Christians of various strengths of belief, 2 atheists, 1 agnostic, 1 Jew and me, a Wiccan, and it doesn't bother us much, because we are all quite tolerant.
6) as for schools I don't know really. No one ever asks. Most schools have to have religious tolerance, especially the teachers, but it's not the same for the pupils. I tend not to study Wicca at school, because my time is taken up with school work, so I don't know how they would react.
7) I don't have enemies based solely on their religion. See question number 5.

Hope I helped

No, you don't have to be Wiccan to cast spells...in fact, Wicca has little to nothing to do with spell work.

Yes, you must be absolutely sure of your intent before you cast. Many say that if you cast with negative intent, you will receive what you send out back times three, however not everyone adheres to this belief.

Those who incorporate elements of other belief systems into their Wiccan practices are what they call "Eclectic"...just another "denomination" of Wicca.

Many schools (particularly religious ones) generally look down on Wicca as devil worship, merely because of it's associations with Witchcraft. It's an unfair generalization and goes against ones freedom of religion and belief.

Wiccans and Satanists are NOT enemies.

Is it true to use a spell, you must be Wiccan?
No. Wicca doesn't have a copyright on magi ck or spell craft... especially since witchcraft predates Wicca by thousands of years.

And also, is it true your intent must be absolute?
Intent is a big power behind spell work, so, the more certain you are, the more powerful the work will be.

If so, what are the consequences otherwise?
It may be more likely to fail.

Are there sub genres of Wicca, like some religions, and does it intersect with other religions?
Yes there are. Even within traditional Wicca there are a number of traditional groups, but outside of tradition, there are thousands of manifestations of Wicca... it's a very individualistic faith.

How do schools react to Wicca in general?
Depends on the school and whether you mean the student body, the faculty or the administration... it varies, but most don't pay any attention to Wicca.

Do they get you in trouble if they see you reading a book on it?
Like I said, depends on the school, but this is rare... I've only heard of a handful of cases where a teacher called a parent or guardian because the student was reading or talking about Wicca. (One hilarious account I heard involved the students mother being invited for a conference and setting the record straight... the mother was a Wiccan.)

Are Wiccans and Satanists really enemies?
No. There is no fundimental war between Wiccans and Satanists... there might be personality conflicts or ideological disagreements, but neither religion really has any set "enemies." Many Wiccans disparage Satanism because they dislike being confused for Satanists (and because they don't understand Satanism themselves.) Some Satanists make fun of Wiccans for similar reasons, but this is a matter of individual ignorances and preferences.

No, spells have nothing to do with Wicca

And also, is it true your intent must be absolute? If so, what are the consequences otherwise?
Spells aren't likely to work unless your intent is clear

Are there sub genres of Wicca, like some religions, and does it intersect with other religions?
Yes, and yes.

How do schools react to Wicca in general?
Depends on the school

Do they get you in trouble if they see you reading a book on it?
They who?

Are Wiccans and Satanists really enemies?
No of course not. I am Wiccan and my closest friend is a Lavey Santanist.
