Default Why don't witch teachers teach witchcraft to people under 18?

I've been asking around most people are just flat out not wanting to teach me. They say I'm too young. Is that a law or something?

It's called being responsible. You're a minor if you're under 18. When you're of legal age it won't be a problem.

It's like smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. It's OK for adults to get cancer and liver disease. But it's not good for kids.

most covens dint allow members under 18, some even 21 due to the fact that you drink after a ritual. its more of a liability thing. dint take it personal.

and Victoria, i have been practicing Wicca since i was 13 or 14. just not in a coven.

look on line for information... with all the negativity surrounding this wonderful religion Im sure that even those who could teach you are afraid of the re precautions they may encounter in showing a minor the way... there are alto of websites on Wicca...try there first.

Maybe you're not witch material? Here's what you should do:

1. Buy a broom
2. Try to fly.
3. Wash, rinse, repeat.

If this doesn't work, wiggle your nose and hope for the best! Good luck!

Lots of teenagers who get involved in witchcraft are just looking for another way to rebel against their parents. Wiccans believe in karma -- they just use another term for it -- and most teenagers wouldn't be responsible enough to use any kind of power properly. If someone teaches you witchcraft and you use it to harm someone, they may be ultimately responsible by the laws of the universe since they opened the door for you. They're covering their own backsides.

All this is based on the assumption that "magic" is real ... which it isn't.

hi there no it's not a law it's a law to play with the mind of a child under 18 your a child and would not understand a lawsuit if anything was to happened to you . witch craft is as real as life itself you must know how and when to play it so do not get burn with matches if you can not turn it off.

be well be safe

You shouldn't be learning it at any age. They shouldn't be teaching it ever. It is wrong. Find a bible and read it, God still loves you!!

because for one most forms of witchcraft to not teach children their beliefs. they wait until they reach adulthood and then give them a choice.

to their traditions adulthood can vary from 12 to 18. but in America you are not a legal adult until you are 18.

there are legal reasons. if your parents disagreed they could cause all kind of problems for the teacher simply by accusing them of being a cultist or a cult leader. and nobody would listen to what you have to say about the teacher, you are now just the stupid brainwashed kid.

there are magical reasons as well. when we teach we accept the karma of those that we teach. maturity is required, because if you attempt even a seemingly well meaning love spell we could have tragic karmic backlash from it. we are responsible for those that we teach.

the world sucks. but if you really want to learn, buy some books by respected authors, that way when you are old enough to join a coven you will have something to bring to the circle with you .

It is like in our public schools where they only groom certain students for college. There is no law to provide an equal education in our public schools. The teachers and staff can pick and chose anyone they want and train them at a higher level of education. That is witch craft isn't it? That kind of discrimination and inequality isn't learned in my Bible.

I heard legally we can't. Plus for me I wouldn't want to interfere with what your parents wishes are. Until you are of legal age you are their responsibility and it's their decision.

Whether I agree with it or not, it's still not my place.

because most young people are probably too careless and immature to take on the responsibility of that comes with knowing witchcraft. Also these with teachers who refuse to teach you probably do so because they would most likely have to carry the guilt if any ting bad happened if they were to go ahead and teach you the craft!

not a law, but it is a rule in their religion, which I wish they would abolish because it leads children to Silver Ravenwolf, and she is Satan

Liability. If your parents were to find out that someone was teaching you and they didn't like it they could actually have the teacher arrested on charges of corrupting a minor. Legally speaking, it's just not a good idea. I know you don't like it, but you may have to wait awhile before someone is willing to teach you.

Wicca doesn't want some crazy parent coming in accusing them of being a cult. They have enough problems with people saying they are evil or devil worshipers and other nonsense.
If you are over 18 you are legally allowed to do whatever you want.
If you are interested get some books on it and read those till your 18.

There is only one rule in Wicca, "An it harm none, do what thou wilt?" That being said, for some, witchcraft is a deeply personal experience, hence the reason there are so many solitaries. The best thing I could advise you to do is go out to Barnes & Nobles and look at some books. I think Silver Ravenwolf(do I have the right name, never read any of her books), has a line out for teens. Also Raymond Buckland, Scott Cunningham also have a few good books out that teach the spiritual side of Wicca as well as some Magick. They might be viewed as too dry by some, but I personally think they cover things very thoroughly. Also, a caningInagar presenting an infant to the Goddess and God, allowing them to come into the Circle in their own time, if at all. Raymond Buckland has a very good book called Wicca For Life, which explains how to ground children in Wicca, thus I find it strange that people would not want to teach you.

Well first off you have no idea what is actually happening, I was a Wicca witch for about 5yrs. and I can tell you exactly what is going on straight and clear. Witchcraft and devil worship and all other beliefs other than the Holy trinity, all originate from scumbag Satan. What is actually happening is GOD gives each one of us power and authority. Now remember Eve in the Garden of Eden? Well that is exactly what the scab still does except he can no longer hold on to the power so he uses it on worthless thrash that he think will sucker you in further with him. he has absolutely NO POWER of his own. We supply the power and he takes the credit for it and plays us for fools, Taking us with him to eternal torment. Misery enjoys company and he wants all the company he can get! Eternity is a long time and he doesn't want to run out of beings to torture to make himself feel better.
I found out the hard way, you can too but I hope and pray you chose not too. Take care and may God bless you spiritually. P.S. when I was practicing witchcraft,I had a satanic friend that use to tell me I was just dabbling in his power, Of course he hasn't got any of his own. So my friend wasn't right was he.And by the way he is back in the state penitentiary so I do not think he is really too blessed,do you?

Merry Meet,You do have some very good responses here, and i to an extent agree with some of them. How old are you and What is it you are wanting to know?Email me and i will see if i can be of assistance to you. Before you start messing around with this, because it is real, you really should learn about the basic principals of our belief system, do you understand the Reed and the law of the power?
Anyway depending on your age i will help you, to learn on your own.
Blessed Be!)O(

Essentially and legally you are not an adult until you reach the age of 18, and if you do not have your parents consent (when under 18), the teacher can get into a lot of trouble. Also below the age of 18 you can't really make an informed decision (of course I know plenty of people over 18 who still can't make informed decisions). Also too, some of the decisions made by those under 18 are fleeting and only last a few months to maybe a year, if they're lucky. They just don't understand some things yet. I guess the law figures by 18 you are ready to make a big decision on your own.
