It has more to do with the individuals own relationship with the Divine. It is more about the individual than other religions. It is real. There is no One True Faith. All expressions of the human spirit are real, even sh!t that you just made up. Things that have longer traditions have more 'weight' though. It can be Dark, but it is best done with balance of Dark and Light, much like the seasons of the year. Winter is darker than Summer, Autumn and Spring are more balanced. It is darker than most accepted religions today that don't use Dark for anything. Dark is all about change. Things cannot improve if change doesn't occur. The exciting is just the newness of something. I try to be in control of myself as much as possible, so I would let the excitement ride over and away from me so that I am not carried away by it and can still remain focused. This sort of practice takes patience, practice, humor, and control.
If your question is "Is magi ck real"? Then my personal response is "No."
That said, I think that focusing ones energies on your goals works regardless of what you call it. Prayer, magic, chanting, self-help books... to me, they all tap into the same source of power... i.e. yourself.
If you want to make something happen, a few Latin words and an offering to the fire salamander wont help (IMHO) as much as figuring out clearly what you want; and what you can do to achieve it. Goal setting.
it can be both as if the individual wants it to be dark and mysterious then indeed it could be. But there is no reason why someone would want it to be purely those things and there is no reason why it has to be any or all of those things to be real. It is really a way to channel the power of thought and suggestion. Not totally unlike prayer........now there is a good question......how does witchcraft differ from prayer? That would get a few knickers in a few twists!!
Well, if you believe in the powers and demons and stuff, then I know a lot about that. You can also contact spirits easily. Here`s how:
1) get a blank piece of paper
2) put a small but visible dot in the middle
3) leave some space, and write the numbers 0-9 in a circle around the dot.
4) make another circle outside your number circle with all of the letters in the alphabet
5) outside that draw to arrows pointing around the circle; counter-clockwise one should say "no" over it and the one pointing clockwise should say "yes"
5) get a necklace (with something on the chain like heart, cross or anything that will weigh it down), dangle it over the dot and ask if there are any spirits who want to commentate
6) you can ask any questions and the necklace will move over the letters/numbers or move clockwise or counter-clockwise to say yes or no, but be aware that spirits can lie.
I am one of the Charmed Ones, and have powers and me and another physic to back that, so if a spirit tells you that they`re probably lying. Spirits can be evil so beware.
Question is are you asking about Wicca or witchcraft?
If just witchcraft any particular form, I am assuming you mean Wicca-specific and if that is the case you do realize that as Wicca is oath-bound only those who are Wicca would be able to give an informed answer, but being Wicca themselves they may be biased?
