There's an old saying what goes around comes around.
Especially if you believe in that sort of thing. Maybe the
unjustly accused are making a point from their realm.

Massachusetts was a great state for education and knowledge for decades and then unknown to any reasoning they seem to have forgotten how to think. Then the Kennedy's got elected and that was it. Massachusetts is useless until its liberalism is dead.

Pendulums always swing from one extreme to the other upon release before stopping in the middle eventually, liberalism is a form of extremism since responsibility takes second place to the "I want" usually.
So Mass. going from extreme religious to extreme liberalism is not rare.

To put it simply: the liberals ARE the ones who founded Massachusetts and executed the ?witches? (men, too, BTW). They ran away from the conservatives (monarchists and high churchmen) who ruled England to form their own society in America.

when they executed women... there wasn't anyone even in many of the current states and there weren't even states... it was at the very beginnings of the nation...

much has changed... I mean look at Europe... the oldest western nations... they had inquisitions... but now look at where they are... very liberal...

it almost seems like every area has to go through an "extremist period"... and then onto progress...

Good question. If I'm not mistaken, it was the Puritans who did the witch killing. I doubt Puritans run Massachusetts today. I have no idea when exactly and why they started becoming more liberal. I do know Massachusetts was one of the first (if not the first) state to outlaw slavery.
