What are the differences between witchcraft and sorcery?
It seems to me that sorcery involves the manipulation of magic through artefact's, allowing sorcerers to wield control over people by claiming to be able to do things, whilst 'witches' are supposed to have some innate power which can make them a scapegoat when things go wrong and can be blamed on magic. Can anyone elaborate on this, with perhaps a few nifty examples?
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred; discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness orgies and the like (Sorcery) and Warn you that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. This is a direct word from Galatians 5:20 For rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, those who reject the word of God He will reject from His kingdom - therefore be warned not to practice evil.
Maleficium or sorcery, is a magical act that causes harm.
Maleficium is a Latin term meaning mischief or wrong doings.
Witchcraft is very different,
Wicca is a religion. Witches follow a creed.
Do what you will, harm none.
You can practice witchcraft without being Wicca.
Witchcraft can be Black, which is closer to sorcery.
