Default Why are people so up in arms about the O'Donnell witchcraft thing?

Isn't it pretty ridiculous that people are acting like she's some crazy nut for "dabbling in witchcraft"?

How is her dabbling in, or believing in, witchcraft any more crazy or ridiculous than be living some itinerant Jewish rabbi was crucified and rose from the dead 3 days later or that an imaginary man in the sky poo fed the universe into being with magic?

People will rail on her for being a nut, yet you can't even get elected in this country if you don't believe in a magic man in the sky, so what's the difference...really? Sounds like typical religious hypocrisy to me. "Oh MY crazy beliefs are different"
@Green Tea: Then why are there so many Christians elected? The beliefs of Christianity are just as false, coltish and nutty as "witchcraft"..I'm asking for the difference between the two..can you provide any?
@Cindi: explain to me how people who believe in witchcraft are any less ridiculous than Christians. They both believe in unproven supernatural things like magic. Again, what makes witchcraft and satanists any different than Christians?

If she had gone on to stability and success it might not matter. She was sued by her university for tuition, defaulted on her mortgage and had a 6.5 mil. lawsuit against her employer not to mention not paying staffers etc.

Yeah why are they worried about another right-wingers who claims moral superiority doing something immoral?

I mean heck now she's a leader of a cult.
Maybe they are jealous of success.
That is what I would claim if I had a right-wing group-think mentality.

So if a Right Winger practices witch craft it's OK, but if a Democrat studies "Marxism", it's not? Hmmm!

She is so insignificant in the scheme of things so that leads me to believe the Liberals are extremely desperate.

The point is the she holds herself up to be some sort of great Christian, but she goofed around in things that, according to her magic book, she should be put to death for.

she said she hung out with witches and 'satanists'. You don't have a problem with that???????

she said she had a midnight date on a bloody satanic alter......!!!! You're cool with that?

If you don't see the difference between Christianity, witchcraft, and satanism...... I can't help you. Try using common sense.

And the people who blame it on being a naive high school student, must not have had any controls over their actions then. I know the difference between right and wrong.... even in high school. Did you not?

Because liberals have nothing else to go on so they attack stupid things that people did over 20 years ago instead. Nobody with a brain in their head actually cares about this, only all the uneducated, childish libs.

It is a political move to be a distraction from the real issues by the left.
Demonize and conquer your opponent.

It just highlights more conservative hypocrisy. O'Donnell advocates basing federal policy on biblical values, yet she admits to dabbling in witchcraft, an act punishable by death in the Bible. It's just like when Sarah Palin advocated for abstinence-only sex education in schools while having an unwed teenage daughter get pregnant.

Basically, this incident, like many before it, proves that even conservatives can't live by the standards they demand the rest of us live by. It discredits them.

I'm up in arms because apparently

A cute single woman can spend her teens and twenties as a Satanist and then "reform"; but a democrat cannot write an essay about Marxism without being a Marxist his whole life.

Either the Democrats nominated Marxist AND the Republicans nominated a Satanist.

or

The Democrats nominated a liberal who when he was a young moron he thought Marxism was a good idea AND the Republicans nominated a Christian who when she was a young moron "dabbled in witchcraft"

Tea Baggers can't have it both ways!

So its basically OK for a christian to "dabble in witchcraft"? Like isn't there a thing in the bible about Suffer not a witch to live? So a really Christian conservative group that condemns pagans is OK with a dabbler in witch craft?

I just do not understand.

Up in arms? First I've heard that Antone's taken up weapons over this. Mainly because all the sane people, the true patriots, are too busy laughing our @SOSes off.

It wasn't this latest revelation that led all SANE people to conclude she's a nut-job. She gave us plenty of evidence before that came out.

It's not that volcanism is sillier, it's her "Purer than thou" attitude. Being an atheist, I'm not engaging in any kind of hypocrisy; I'm just enjoying HER hypocrisy. ... 'Cause it's FUNNY!
