And anyone telling you that it is hasn't the foggiest idea what they are talking about. Witchcraft is a practice that can either be positive or negative. Think of a knife, it can either be a tool that is helpful or it can be an instrument that causes harm. The "good" or "bad" in Witchcraft depends on the person using it. Good or bad depends on the intent of the practitioner.
No. It's only viewed as bad by those who either don't understand it or don't **want** to understand it.
If Witchcraft is bad, then so is the medical practice, science, cooking, herbal studies, etc...as at one point they were all *thought* of as some form of Witchcraft
No. I've been a Wiccan and a witch for 12 years, and I have a loving family, a beautiful child, and a very normal life. My friends who are witches impress me every day with their dedication to good works and the community. We're good people. Witchcraft is very misunderstood.
no not all witch craft is bad there is a witch craft known as WICCA and the Wicca religion is used by the spirits of nature and higher beings. Being a Wicca myself i consider it to be a way to Connect with certain things
some witchcraft though is used as a deadly art but the most important rule is whatever you cast comes back three fold.
No, it is not. It is thought to be evil by people who don't understand it. There are people who try to use it with ill intent, but that does not make witchcraft itself evil. Most witches I know use their knowledge of the Craft to help others. I know a great many witches.
Witches are only as bad as the individual person. If a person is nasty and spiteful, then they are hardly likely to be good, kind Witches.
Witchraft is nether good, nor bad.
Wicca (a modern type of Witchcraft, and very popular) is a peaceful faith. The only rule adhered to by Wiccans is "Harm none", but many also believe that whatever you put out comes back 3 times to you.
Good deeds are rewarded threefold, bad ones backfire threefold!
Christians have a confused idea of what Witchraft and Modern Wicca really is. With no understanding of Wiccan beliefs, they assume they ether worship the devil, or only worship stones and rocks and "Earthly things", which IS NOT what we mean by "Earth Religion".
What amazes me most is that most kind, sensible Christians wouldn't openly say to a Hindu family that their religion (which has multiple gods, idols, offerings and talismans) is "Bad" or "Evil"
It would be considered very rude and cruel.
BUT...a Christian will quite comfortably tell a Wiccan their religion is "Evil" even though they don't understand what Wicca really is!
Is all photography bad? Is all painting bad? Is all music bad?
Witchcraft is a skill set, also referred to as an art, or quite literally, a craft.
A craft itself cannot be bad, it has no intentions or direction of its own. A person can have negative or harmful intentions, or a person can have positive and helpful intentions.
Speaking for myself and many other witches I've worked with over the years, we practice with a solid code of ethics and strive to do no harm to others and as little harm as possible to the earth and the natural world.
Even with the best of intentions, spells are taken very seriously and used very carefully - only used when there is a real need, examined thoroughly (i.e. is it ethical, what are all the possible consequences/results and am I willing to accept responsibility for any and all of them, etc.) before being cast.
No it is not. Quite frankly American Fundamentalism with its "Knowledge of Jesus Christ" has struck me as inherently and fundamentally Gnostic since the Nag Hammadi Gospels were published. So most of the people who say it is I can't even accept as Christian anymore.
The Catholic Church numbers among its Fathers St. Augustine who argued that Witchcraft and Magic were foolishness which had nothing to do with true religion and then they turned around and burned witches for the things Augustine denied they were able to do. Traditional Christian Belief is what has been behind most denunciations of Witchcraft and it has never been consistent except in its hostility.
Witchcraft has meant survivals of formula and recipes from the Old Pre-Christian days, it has meant very sophisticated Philosophical speculation acted out, it has meant a ruse to get money and it has meant a competing religion. The four have nothing in common except you can get executed for them in Islamic societies and Christian heretics call them the devils' work.
no, WICCA is the ways of the earth and if used to to harm others we harm ourselves( little thing called karma)we care for all and we care for the earth.Christianity has made us look bad so that people would shun us and join them for "salvation".but no it is most definitely not.
What do you mean is all Witchcraft bad? Witchcraft is not bad, it is not good. It just is. Anybody that tells you Witchcraft is bad or evil is probably living under the oppressive regime of a belief system that does not allow for freedom of thought.
