I have questions about witchcraft and my religion...?
I'm really confused right now i feel this draw to witchcraft but i am a christian and come from a family of strict Christians. I believe in Jesus Christ and Easter and Christmas it just feels like something is missing and when i hold a book of spells i feel hope. I dint know what to do. I do have a few questions though: Is it possible to be a witch and a christian? Can i be a witch without devil worship? Will i still be able to go to church if i am a witch? How can i keep this a secret?
You cannot be both a Christian and a witch. The Bible is very clear, stay away from witchcraft. See Galatians 5:19-20, but there are many more verses like this. Stay far away from witchcraft.
Wicca spells are idol ism?Romans 1:25 says, ?They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things, rather than the Creator?? Who wants to settle for second best? In Isaiah 40, God paints a picture of how much greater the Creator is than His creation. If you are worship ping anything besides the Creator, you are not only spinning your wheels, you are guilty of idolatry.
Wiccan spells bring false hope. Hebrews 9:27 says, ??Man is destined to die once, after that, to face judgment.? God says we get one chance at life, and that is it. There are no do-overs. If we don?t accept God?s gift of Jesus in our lifetime, He judges us as unwilling to be in His presence, and we are sent to hell.
Wiccan spells bring disillusionment. Mark 7:8 says, ?You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.? God is God, and we are not. We have a decision to make. Are we going to take God at His word and adopt His worldview, or are we not? Knowing God takes a lot of discipline. Wicca is a religion that takes a pack of lies, ties it in a romantic ribbon, and searches out a well-intentioned, but lazy and gullible mark to sell its hollow doctrines.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says, ?Let no one be found among you who? practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells?Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD...? Wicca witchcraft is a sin and God hates it. Why? Because it is an attempt to cut off our dependence on God and get answers apart from Him.
Sin USN?t just a heinous, socially disagreeable action. Sin is our decision to disagree with God on any topic?to rebel against Him. Sin is saying, ?God, I want to live my life my way.? Romans 3:23 says, ?For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.? Romans 6:23 says, ?For the wages of sin is death?? This USN?t bodily death, this is spiritual death: eternal separation from God and all the blessings that His presence brings. This is the definition of hell: the absence of God?s presence. That is what our sin gains for us.
Thankfully, Romans 6:23 dozen?t end there. It goes on to say, ??but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.? God knew that we would all rebel in one way or another, and he provided a way for us to avoid that separation?through faith in Jesus Christ. Wicca witchcraft is nothing more than another lie from Satan, the enemy of our souls, who ?prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour? (1 Peter 5:8).
witchcraft is a trade that the demons control. so no, you can not do both. otherwise some weird stuff is going to start happening and they wont leave you alone. I'm serious. be careful. . sounds like you're already too involved if that's the only way you feel hopeful.
You can not be a witch and a Christian at the same time. To be a Christian means you follow Christ. Jesus has told us to have nothing to do with witchcraft.
If you are not a born again child of God, Satan is your spiritual father....whether you worship him or not. The same is true with witchcraft. It does not matter if you are worshiping Satan or not, if you are not a child of God, you are a child of Satan.
You could go to church if your involved in witchcraft, but it's not going to do you much good, as God knows your heart.
You must follow the path that calls to you. But make sure you understand witchcraft before you initiate yourself into it. And you should not feel the need to hide anything from your family. I would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about both religions. I myself am currently a Wiccan that is dating a Roman Catholic, and we both respect one an others religious decision. What it comes down to is choosing what religion you wish to be live in.
Galatians 5:19-21
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; IDOLATRY and WITCHCRAFT; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD."
Jeremiah 24:15
"Choose this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
If Jesus is truly your Lord and Savior, why would you need anything else?
You can be a witch and a Christian, but it is pretty difficult.
The first problem you face is that the essence of Christianity is obeying Jesus, putting His will above your own, and that the essence of doing magi ck is applying your will to the world. How can you do both? Can you use spells and rituals to be clearer about who Jesus is and what He wants of you? Can you involve Jesus in the spells and rituals that you do?
"High Magick" rituals usually involve being a truly devout Christian (most of their focus is the summoning of infernal powers to subject them to the rule and love of God, and using the sympathetic action to purify your own soul). I suggest you search for and read Thur the "Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage".
For that matter, search for "Christian Witches" and interact with those groups of people.
Witchcraft itself is non-religious, no worship of any devil, spirit, or god is required.
Should you continue to go to Church? Are you learning things about God or Jesus?
Should you keep it a secret? Are you ready for the persecutions of the people who will not understand? Because not many will. On thee other hand, do you have to be loud about it?
Most religions use magi ck, but consider that when priests or priestesses do it, it is sacred and therefore has nothing to do with the devil - - - can you handle becoming a priestess of Jesus?
When you have thought over these questions, search for and research 'Gnostic Christianity', and read "A Kabbalah for the Modern World."
Vast majority of Witches are Pagans, which means we don't believe in Satan/devils, let alone worship such things.
Just because someone doesn't happen to be Christian doesn't mean they are Satanists. There are many different religions. The "Witches are devil worshipers" myths have long been busted.
You can learn more about Witches at WNW.witchvox.com. There are thousands of essays written by Witches available on just about every topic, from how-to to religion to personal philosophies. You can search for articles by Christian Witches.
Some Witches are Christian, they don't believe there is anything wrong with Witchcraft at all. The interpret the Bible differently I guess than the mainstream.
Most Christians would say Witchcraft is wrong. Who knows, maybe they are right... so you have to be ready to face consequences for what you choose no matter what they might be. I guess that is the thing... no one can really know, we all have to follow what we believe to be true.
There is an attraction in witchcraft. It's a well-crafted fantasy which promises hidden knowledge, special powers and, of course, it's seen as "alternative". However, in reality it does nothing, achieves nothing and is at best a self delusion. There are no special powers out there, spells don't actually work, it is not an ancient craft - Wicca was invented in the 1950's.
Most of the modern ideas about witches are based on the strange fantasies of the 17Th and 18Th century witch finders. There were actually no witches at all, except for a few mad deluded people. Just lots of nasty people throwing random accusations at other innocent people they had a grudge against. See the play "The Crucible" about the Salem trials. No witches involved.
In your bible it states that you can not practice witchcraft. I've been a pagan witch for six years and a lot of the Christians hate me, but I still have a lot of Christian friends. I would suggest that you keep quiet if you do decide to practice witchcraft.
It sounds like you've done very little (if any) research on what witchcraft actually is. Witchcraft is a practice, not a religion, and has no dogmatic requirements. You can belong to any religion and also practice witchcraft. It has nothing to do with the Christian Devil. In fact, considering that the vast majority of witches are not Christian, most witches don't even believe in the Devil. The term "witchcraft" comes from the Old English word "witchcraft" or "craft of the wise". A witch studies herbal remedies and how to work with natural energies to create changes in his or her life. Yes, witches cast spells, but spells are very similar to a sort of ritualized prayer except that instead of asking for help from some sort of deity, you put forth the energy to actualize the result yourself. There are Christian witches, but Christian witches have a unique problem with their holy book. The Bible appears to condemn witchcraft, and for many Christians, that would mean that Christian witchcraft is an oxymoron and blasphemy. However, Christian witches tend to not follow the Bible as literal truth, but read it as more of an allegorical guideline (evidence suggests that the original writers of the Bible meant it as such anyway). The word "witchcraft" and "witch" didn't even appear in the original wording of the Bible. King James mistranslated a word that should have been "poisoner" on purpose as "witch" because he was trying to convert the Anglo-Saxon pagans to Christianity, so he turned their word for their healers into something evil and demonic. There's nothing wrong with being a Christian witch, but do realize that if you do choose to walk that path, you'll find yourself in conflict with a lot of other Christians.
Now, here's where I have a problem with your question: you want to keep this secret and you sound like you're underage. If you're a legal adult, you can ignore this part because then it would be your business what religions and practices that you want to follow. However, if you are still underage, I must warn you that your parents have every right to dictate what path you follow while you live under their roof. They can't tell you what to believe, but they can prevent you from obtaining books, ritual materials, and anything else you might need and/or want. They can tell you that you are prohibited from practicing witchcraft, and although it would be very close-minded of them, they have that right. Witches do NOT support sneaking around your parents and breaking their rules. If you can't practice in their house, wait. Witchcraft will still be there when you are an adult and can choose for yourself.
